%X This article deals with the use of natural light as a project line in the work of Oscar Niemeyer. This is an element that, as it is conditioning techniques, becomes a matter of architecture itself, providing answers to questions of function and also being shaped to cause emotion. Therefore, considerations are made about lightning events in significant buildings in the history of architecture; about the conceptual setting on which Niemeyer¡¯s discourse is based; and about the analysis of some of his works. Finally, a demarcation is established as to the main concepts concerning the theme of light and the constructed and experienced objects. O artigo versa sobre o uso da luz natural como diretriz de projeto na obra de Oscar Niemeyer. Elemento que, superando condicionantes da luminot¨¦cnica, torna-se mat¨¦ria pr¨®pria da arquitetura, respondendo ¨¤s quest es funcionais mas tamb¨¦m sendo moldada para emocionar. Para tanto, faz-se considera  es sobre acontecimentos lum¨ªnicos em edif¨ªcios emblem¨¢ticos da hist¨®ria da arquitetura, sobre o cen¨¢rio conceitual que norteia o discurso de Niemeyer, e sobre a an¨¢lise de algumas de suas obras. Finalmente, elabora-se um balizamento entre os principais conceitos relacionados ¨¤ tem¨¢tica da luz e aos objetos constru¨ªdos vivenciados.
