Saloma %J Science Diliman %D 2003 %I University of the Philippines %X We evolve topology of a network of N fully-coupled nodes that interact according to repulsion-attractiondynamics within a confining wall. The dynamics portrays each node¡¯s tendency to keep distance from itscompetitors while maintaining a lighter tendency to resist relative isolation. Each node is characterizedby two parameters: an intrinsic mobility ¦Ì and a preferred neighboring distance ¦Ñ. Onset of clustering isfound to occur at a critical variance in mobility, ¦Ò¦Ì2 = 1, and in preferred neighboring distance, ¦Ò¦Ì2 = 10.This result implies that small-world behavior manifested in clustering can be triggered by the diversity ofnode population. %K topology %U http://journals.upd.edu.ph/index.php/sciencediliman/article/view/131/122
