%0 Journal Article %T DETERMINACI¨®N DEL EFECTO DEL ¡°TIMBRE¡± EN LA M¨²SICA REDUCTORA DE ANSIEDAD (MURA) EN ALUMNOS DE POSGRADO EN PEDIATRIA, FONIATRIA Y ANESTESIOLOGIA %A Castillo Barrios Jes¨²s %J Salud, Arte y Cuidado %D 2012 %I Universidad Centroccidental Lisandro Alvarado %X In order to determine the effect of the characteristic ¡°timbre¡± of music to decrease the anxiety in graduate medical students, a quasi-experimental study was made. The population consisted of all the post graduate students of in various medical specialties at Centroocidental University ¡°Lisandro Alvarado¡± in Venezuela, in 2004. The sample comprised twenty one (21) participants in the specialtys of Pediatrics, Phoniatricsd and Anesthesiology, elected through a non probability accidental sampling. They answered the standardized questionnaire State-Trait Anxiety Inventory (STAI). In the experience was d only the State Anxiety Subscale (AE) to measure situational anxiety and review its implementation in context. The questionnaire was administered to the three groups after three intervention to each group, the rst after a theoretical and practical class of theirspecialty, and the second after a session of music listening the presentation of an execution issued with a ¡°cuatro¡± and the third after the presentation of a performance unites issued with a ute. The results show that music affects the reduction of anxiety of participants signi cantly as evidenced by the application of the a univariate ANOVA (F(2,60) = 22.314, p 0.001).
