Brazilian situation isaggravated due to poverty conditions, misery, malnutrition, need of basic sanitation, disinformation, and precarious healthattendance. It is esteem that 350 million people with deficiency are excluded of any kind of medical attendance. For themaintenance of a person that carries a deficiency, 12,452 dollars are spent annually. On the other hand, ˇ°per capitaˇ± annual costof primary prevention is 20 dollars and of secondary prevention is 600 dollars. Population does not have access to informationabout causes, prevention and deficient child attendance and demonstrates wrong information, superstition and fears about thissubject. Thus, this study aimed to detect factors that may contribute with the improvement of preventive actions. Data obtainedfrom studies carried out with 100 APAE Scholl students in Campo Mour o allowed to analyze some common characteristicsabout them. One of these characteristics was that from all of 100 students under analysis, 52 had relatives with some kind ofmental, sensorial or additive deficiency. According to this index it is possible to conclude that people that have relatives withsome kind of deficiency also have great probabilities of generate children with deficiencies. %U http://www.revista.grupointegrado.br/sabios/viewarticle.php?id=90&layout=abstract
