%X This article presents a first hand account of a pediatric physician working in an inner city clinic under a managed care environment. The frustrations, advantages, and disadvantages of the managed care implementation of services is described. The implications of managed care in this environment for the patient, the health care delivery system, and the physician are compared to a fee for service delivery system.
