%X This essay presents a reading of Nietzsche＊s second Untimely Consideration and the second essay of his On the Genealogy of Morals that reevaluates the importance of animal forgetfulness in Nietzsche＊s conception of history and politics. On my account the insight in the value of animal forgetfulness allows Nietzsche to redefine memory as an artistic force, and historiography as an art of interpretation. This article relates this insight to the relation between politics and the promise in the second essay of On the Genealogy of Morals, arguing that here the rediscovery of the value of animal forgetfulness allows Nietzsche to redefine politics as a realm in which the animality of the human being can take on a creative and productive role exemplified by the promise of the sovereign individual instead of being considered as an object of domination. Este ensayo presenta una lectura de la segunda Consideraci車n intempestiva y del segundo ensayo de La genealog赤a de la moral que revaloriza la importancia del olvido animal en la concepci車n de la historia y de la pol赤tica propuesta por Nietzsche. En mi interpretaci車n, el reconocimiento del valor del olvido animal permite a Nietzsche redefinir la memoria como una fuerza art赤stica y la historiograf赤a como un arte de la interpretaci車n. Este art赤culo conecta esta intuici車n con la relaci車n entre pol赤tica y promesa establecida por Nietzsche en el segundo ensayo de La genealog赤a de la moral, argumentando que el descubrimiento del valor del olvido animal permite a Nietzsche redefinir la esfera de la pol赤tica como una esfera en la cual la animalidad del ser humano pude tomar un rol creativo y productivo ejemplificado por la promesa del individual soberano en vez de ser considerado como un objeto de dominaci車n y explotaci車n.
