%X This article analyses the processes of representation and perception of the Pacific Ocean landscape as derived from the narrative of the voyage by Gemelli Carreri (1698) on board of the Manila Galleon. The article also introduces the concept  Sailscape  as the practical and symbolic construction of the oceanic environment and as part of the navigation and geographical imagination. The theoretical analysis of the Pacific  sailscape  has been illustrated by means of Gemelli＊s text. In addition to that, the navigator＊s scope and the ship＊s trip have been regarded as spatial agents in the construction of the landscape. Este trabajo analiza los procesos de representaci車n y percepci車n del paisaje del oc谷ano Pac赤fico a partir de la narraci車n del viaje de Gemelli Carreri (1698) a bordo del Gale車n de Manila. Presenta el concepto  Sailscape  como construcci車n pr芍ctica y simb車lica del entorno oce芍nico, como parte de la navegaci車n y de la imaginaci車n geogr芍fica. Con el texto de Gemelli se ha ilustrado el an芍lisis te車rico del  sailscape  pac赤fico, atendiendo a la mirada del navegante y al recorrido de la nave como agentes espaciales en la construcci車n del paisaje.
