%X This article¡¯s objective is to offer a descriptive approximation to the distinctive features of the Third Sector¡¯s entities, through their organizational characteristics, government and management, considering that these three lines of analysis are conditioned by the institutional acknowledgement of the social functions that are carried out by the plural and heterogeneous collection of their entities, understood as charity organizations whose main features are privacy, principle of no profit distribution, voluntary resources mobilization, formal organizational structure and capacity of autonomy and governance. El objetivo del art¨ªculo es ofrecer una aproximaci¨®n descriptiva a los rasgos distintivos de las entidades del Tercer Sector, tanto desde el punto de vista de sus caracter¨ªsticas organizativas como de su gobierno y gesti¨®n, considerando que estas tres l¨ªneas de an¨¢lisis est¨¢n condicionadas por el reconocimiento institucional de las funciones sociales que desempe an el conjunto plural y heterog¨¦neo de sus entidades, entendidas como organizaciones no lucrativas cuyos rasgos b¨¢sicos son el car¨¢cter privado, el principio de no distribuci¨®n de beneficios, la movilizaci¨®n de recursos voluntarios, la estructura organizativa formal y la capacidad de autonom¨ªa y gobierno.
