%X The purpose of this paper is to offer a theoretical approach to the terms  record management ,  information management  and  knowledge management , as well as to the relationships among them. This work consists of a descriptive review of the pertinent literature in which the chosen terms are described individually. It aims to transmit scientifically valid information in order to establish a relationship among the three. Three aspects are drawn together in the conceptualization: documents, communication technologies, and people, the combination of which gives rise to a number of strengths that constitute the capital of any organization. This process provides evidence of a strong relationship among record management, information management and knowledge management, which together represent a complementary and indispensable grouping in any organization. El objeto de esta exposici車n consiste en el abordaje te車rico de los t谷rminos gesti車n documental, gesti車n de informaci車n y gesti車n del conocimiento y las relaciones existentes entre ellos. Este trabajo corresponde a un estudio de revisi車n o compilaci車n de tipo descriptivo, en el que los t谷rminos seleccionados son descritos uno a uno en sus caracter赤sticas y que tiene por finalidad transmitir informaciones v芍lidas cient赤ficamente con el objeto de establecer una relaci車n entre los t谷rminos propuestos. Tres aspectos confluyen en la conceptualizaci車n: documentos, tecnolog赤as de la comunicaci車n y personas; la combinaci車n de todas ellas da lugar a una serie de capacidades que son lo que constituye el capital de toda organizaci車n; este proceso evidencia una relaci車n estrecha entre la gesti車n documental, de informaci車n y del conocimiento que conforman un equipo complementario e imprescindible en toda organizaci車n.
