The objective of thisstudy was to compare gait parameter in six differentprosthetic feet in trans tibial amputees, commonly usedin developing countries. The stride parameter, verticalground reaction force, gait efficiency and quadricepsmuscle activities were studied in different feet usingComputer Dynography (CDG) gait analyzer. The rawdata of force and electromyogrpahy (EMG) sensors ofgait analyzer were filtered, processed and analyzed withhelp of MATLAB 7.0. A blue tooth enabled heart ratetelemetry system was used for calculating gait efficiencyin terms of physiological cost index (PCI). Seven youngand active male trans tibial amputees were recruited inthis study and each of them were tested with each of thefollowing prosthetic feet: Solid Ankle Cushioned Heel(SACH), Dynamic (Ottobock), Ranger, Jaipur,Greissinger and Regal. Results indicated that sound limbwas exposed to more ground reaction force than theprosthetic foot irrespective of the foot type. However, velocity, cadence and gait efficiency was higher inDynamic foot. The results of EMG analysis in quadricepsshowed that the subjects using Greissinger foot mimicthe muscle action of normal human locomotion. %K Gait Analysis %K Ground Reaction Force %K EMG %K Prosthetic Foot %K %K Trans Tibial Amputee %U http://www.ijpmr.com/ijpmr1001/100103.pdf
