%0 Journal Article %T Curriculum and competencies. What kind of child-subject are they producing? %A Mar¨ªa Elena Ortiz Espinoza %J Alteridad : Revista de Educaci¨®n %D 2012 %I Universidad Polit¨¦cnica Salesiana %X This article focuses on some findings from the competency curriculum of the Centres of Early Education in the Metropolitan District of Quito. By analyzing it from a post-critical perspective, and assuming the language curriculum as producer of subjectivities, this document demands and produce a new subject. It is argued that the innocent subject of Rousseau - helpless and without concerns from wich initial education curricula were developed in recent years,is being replace by a new type of subject: autonomous, independent, cooperative, able to make decisions, to regulate itself, with rights and duties, ie, a person, a competent individuality who will be able to interact effectively in its environment. The Foucauldian discourse analyses tool allowed to visualise discourses on this new child subject, based primarily on cognitive sciences, to wich they have been given the authority to say how to teach these subjects and what features should be develop %K curriculum %K early childhood education %K skills %U http://alteridad.ups.edu.ec/documents/1999102/3570627/v7n1_Ortiz.pdf
