%X O presente ensaio parte da conhecida tese de que ¡°conhecer ¨¦ conhecer a causa¡±, a raz o de ser. Sem recusar a corre  o desta tese, pretende-se determinar o ambito e o alcance pr¨®prios da mesma levando-se em conta as suas limita  es e as suas consequ¨ºncias sobre os modos moderno e contemporaneo de pensar. Deve ser o pensamento humano apenas representacional ou n o? Se n o ¨¦ esse o caso, a referida tese afastar¨¢ os fil¨®sofos do pathos origin¨¢rio, como devemos mostrar. Caso contr¨¢rio, que nos resta pensar sen o produtos do intelecto? This essay starts at the well-known thesis according to which ¡®to know something is to know its cause¡¯, its reason. Not disagreeing with that at all, we mean to set the proper domain and reaching of the thesis once considering its limitations and effects for modern and contemporary way of thinking. Does may human thought be just representation, or not? If it does not, the thesis will actually make philosophers stay away from the originary pathos as we may show. If it does, what it is left to think about but mind productions?
