%0 Journal Article %T Indigenous cutaneous leishmaniasis %A Muhammed K %A Narayani K %A Aravindan K %J Indian Journal of Dermatology, Venereology and Leprology %D 1990 %I Medknow Publications %X A 20 year old male from Nilambur of Malappuram district of Kerala developed an asymptomatic , single, well circumscribed erythomatous indurated plaque about 3x 2.5 cm in size with central crusting, on the left forearm just about the wrist on the lateral aspect, of six months duration. He had never gone out of his native place at any time in his life, Slit smear examination and staining with Giemsa stain showed plenty of extracelluar and intracellular Leishman, Donovan bodies, ,Histopathology of the lesion was consistent with diagnosis of cutaneous Leishmaniasis.
