%X El objetivo de este trabajo es analizar el proceso hist車rico de la profesi車n de Trabajo Social, utilizando como elemento integrador el binomio pr芍ctica-teor赤a. La experiencia y la formaci車n de un cuerpo te車rico s車lido y amplio de conocimiento han generado el reconocimiento profesional del Trabajo Social, deslig芍ndose de sus ra赤ces ben谷fico-asistenciales. Tambi谷n se analizan las 芍reas, las teor赤as vigentes y las nuevas tendencias emergentes que han dado contenido a la sistematizaci車n y a la complejidad metodol車gica del Trabajo Social. The aim of this work is to analyze the historical process of the profession of Social Work using the binomial practice-theory as an integrating element. The experience and the formation of a solid and broad theoretical basis of knowledge have enabled the recognition of professional Social Work, leaving aside its charitable roots. We analyze current theories and trends that have given substance to the systematization and methodological complexity of Social Work.
