Naturalhabitat of most campylobacter spp is the birds' intestine and varieties of the warmbloodedanimals. These organisms can enter into the bio-environment such as drinkable waters through the feces of birds, animals and infected individuals. Theaims of this study was to identify the species of pathogenic Camplylobacter whichsampling from the Swab cloac of 140 seagulls resided in the Cheshmekileh River wascarried out in winter of 2011 and spring of 2012. In order to identify the presence ofthe bacterium, the PCR technique was used and conducted using specific primers. Of140 samples collected from the alive birds, 65 samples (48%) were infected with theCampylobacter spp. With regard to the above results, it can be claimed that the birds'digestive system due to possessing of the appropriate conditions is regarded as one ofthe most principal reservoirs of the Campylobacters. On one hand, considering thecontamination of the waters of this region with Campylobacters reported by someresearchers, the contamination of the waters of this region can be considered to relateto these birds up to much extents. %K campylobacter %K seagull %K north of Iran %U http://www.m-hikari.com/asb/asb2013/asb1-4-2013/tarrahASB1-4-2013.pdf
