While these strategic planning efforts are commendable, it is not very clear how the municipalities will monitor the progress made, if any, toward reaching sustainability. This paper strives to offer some clarity with regard to various measurement systems of urban sustainability. Our goal is to provide a list of steps cities and city governments in Romania and elsewhere might consider in light of designing and implementing measurement/assessment systems of urban sustainability. %K sustainable development %K local development strategies %K master plans %K measurement/assessment systems %U http://www.rtsa.ro/en/files/TRAS-26E-2009-11Neamtu-Dragos-Veliscu.pdf
