%X Este artigo analisa os processos espaciais de descentraliza  o e de segrega  o em uma cidade hipot¨¦tica, investigando-se no primeiro processo, a ¨¢rea central e no segundo, a favela. O objetivo do estudo ¨¦ uma tentativa de mostrar as tend¨ºncias e a forma como essesprocessos se apresentam em recortes ou escalas diferenciadas, contendo uma discuss o te¨®rica da cidade virtual com base ou com refer¨ºncias ¨¤s caracter¨ªsticas de cidades que existem de fato. Observa-se que em escalas diferentes, os processos espaciais apresentam comportamentos e respostas distintas com novos conte¨²dos. This article analyses the spatial processes of decentralization andsegregation in a hypothetical city. The central area is analyzed in the former process and the slums in the latter one. Research attempts to show the tendencies and the way these processes are presented in segments or different scales, with a theoretical discussion on the virtual city based on the characteristics of real cities. Results pointed out that, in different scales, the spatial processes present distinct behavior and different answers with new contents.
