%X Se realiza una revisi車n bibliogr芍fica de la profilaxis antibioticoterapia perioperatoria; sus fundamentos, indicaciones, modo de administraci車n y selecci車n de los antibi車ticos m芍s adecuados. Se muestra la incidencia de sepsis adquirida en el Centro y se revisan 186 historias cl赤nicas de pacientes operados, en los cuales se utiliz車 antibi車tico perioperatorio en el 63,6 % de los casos, y se hall車 que s車lo en el 16,6 % se report車 sepsis posoperatoria. En el grupo donde no se utiliz車 la antibioticoprofilaxis se verific車 la sepsis en el 75 % de ellos, por lo que se demuestra la eficacia y necesidad de empleo de este proceder A bibliographic reference review of perioperative prophylaxis, its principles, indications, modes of administration and selection of the most suitable antibiotics is conducted. The incidence of adquired sepsia in hospital is shown as well as 186 medical records of operated patients were checked. Perioperative antibiotics were given to 63.6 % of the cases and postoperative sepsis was reported only in 16.6 %. 75 % of the group of patients who were not given the antibiotic prophylaxis suffered from sepsis, therefore, the nedd for and effectiveness of this method is proved
