The study was descriptive in design and the performance of preventive health behaviours were evaluated in perspective of the Health Belief Model. Turkish databases were searched by entering the key word of Health Belief Model . It was revealed that eight researches were conducted in Turkey and all of them were accessed. In these researches, the model was used to explain preventive health behaviours such as breast self-examination, mammography screening, finding practices of diabetes care beneficial, prevention of osteoporosis, and parental beliefs influencing the health of their children. The four of these researches were validity/reliability studies. In the two researches of remaining four of them all constructs of the model were used.
