%X La revista Pastos y Forrajes es el 車rgano oficial del Ministerio de Educaci車n Superior para la rama agropecuaria. El objetivo de este art赤culo es dar a conocer c車mo surgi車 esta publicaci車n y c車mo ha evolucionado, en correspondencia con las transformaciones del sector agropecuario y de las tecnolog赤as de la informaci車n. Se informa acerca de la estructura de su Comit谷 Editorial, las tem芍ticas que se abordan, la necesidad de su evaluaci車n peri車dica, as赤 como el papel desempe ado en la formaci車n de los profesionales, en la divulgaci車n de los resultados cient赤ficos y en el canje con otras publicaciones. Se concluye que los directivos deben trabajar para alcanzar 赤ndices superiores en la excelencia, mantener la acreditaci車n otorgada por la Academia de Ciencias de Cuba, as赤 como elevar la visibilidad nacional e internacional de la revista a trav谷s de un proceso de mejora continua. Pastos y Forrajes is the official journal of the Ministry of Higher Education for the livestock production sector. The objective of this paper is to show how this publication emerged and how it has evolved in correspondence with the transformations of the livestock production sector and information technologies. The structure of its Editorial Board, the topics included, the need for its periodical evaluation are reported as well as the role played in the training of professionals, the dissemination of scientific results and the exchange with other publications. It is concluded that the staff should work to achieve higher excellence indexes, maintain the accreditation granted by the Cuban Academy of Sciences, as well as increase the national and international visibility of the journal through a continuous improvement process.
