%0 Journal Article %T Vietnamese EFL learners¡¯ Difficulties with English consonants %A Luu Trong Tuan %J Studies in Literature and Language %D 2011 %I Canadian Academy of Oriental and Occidental Culture %R 10.3968/j.sll.1923156320110302.434 %X The research was conducted to examine the most problematic English consonants facing the students at Hung Vuong University. Data collated from the questionnaire survey reveals that the students have the most difficulty in pronouncing the English fricatives /¡̉/, / / and the affricates /t¡̉/ and /d / among the English consonants surveyed. The students tend to substitute Vietnamese sounds for the English sounds.
