The main constituents of the oil were 1,8-cineole (55.48 %), ¦Á--pinene (20.95 %), aromadendrene (6.45 %), and trans-pinocarveol (5.92%). In vitro antimicrobial activity of the oil of E. sargentii was tested against three Gram-positive (Bacillus subtilis, Staphylococcus aureus, and Staphylococcus epidermidis), five Gram-negative (Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Proteus vulgaris, Shigella dysenteriae) bacteria, and two fungi (Aspergillus niger and Candida albicans). The results of the bioassay showed that the oil exhibited moderate to high antimicrobial activity. %K 1 %K 8-cineole %K antimicrobial activity %K Eucalyptus sargentii Maiden %K volatile oil %K ¦Á-pinene %U http://www.greenpharmacy.info/article.asp?issn=0973-8258;year=2010;volume=4;issue=3;spage=174;epage=177;aulast=Safaei-Ghomi
