A fecal sample was obtained from each person and analyzed by direct examination, Kato method, spontaneous sedimentation and Kinyoun staining. The prevalence of intestinal parasites was 79.6%. Nodifferences in age (p > 0.05) or sexes (p > 0.05) were observed among individuals parasited. Twelve species of enteroparasites were diagnosed. Protozoans (97.2%) were more frequent than helminthes. Blastocystys sp. was the most prevalent parasite (64.9%). 61.2% of infected was poliparasited (82/134). The parasitic associations most common were: Blastocystys sp./ Giardia intestinalis (12.5%), Blastocystys sp./ Entamoeba coli (12.5%) and Blastocystyssp./ Endolimax nana (11.0%).
