%X A new species of Rugonectria, R. sinica, is described based on collections from tropical and subtropical regions of China. Comparisons were made between the new species and a morphologically similar species R. castaneicola. Sequence analysis of the combined ITS and b-tubulin gene of related fungi was also carried out. Both morphological and molecular data support the separation of the Chinese fungus from the Japanese one.
