Amaranthaceae were germinating at: 17, 34, 69, 138, 172 mM NaCl while Chenopodiaceae at: 34, 69, 103, 138, 172, 207, 241, 276, 310, 345 mM NaCl. For the evaluation of the effect of NaCl treated with salt concentrations: 34, 103, 241, 517 mM NaCl, at autotrophy growth stage plants were grown in substrate in greenhouse conditions. Results showed that salinity delayed and reduced seed germination. Plants from Chenopodiaceae tolerate salinity at this growing stage betterthan those from Amaranthaceae. In plants grown in greenhouse the biomass was lowered when plants were grown in salinity of medium but for some genotypes slight stimulation was recorded in a lower level of salinity. There were great genotypic differences in these responses. %K Amarantaceae %K Chenopodiaceae %K NaCl %K germination %K biomass %U http://versita.metapress.com/content/87407270q5665300/?p=091fff12230f4c50a315f5a34c78c048&pi=0
