%X cabanagem was a social revolution that decimated the amazonia's population in a wide territory. in contrast to this wide and international scenery, cabanagem was, and it still is, analyzed as regional movement, typical of the regency period. however, the "patriot" cabanos created, throughout the movement, a feeling of common identity shared by people of the different etnias cultures which it extrapolated these initial caracteristics. this whole process is the central object of this article.
