%X the abscess of the psoas muscle is an uncommon entity, difficult to diagnose because of its generally inespecific presentation. it is often overlooked in daily clinical practice, and all this leads to delayed diagnosis. over the last years there has been and increase in the number of cases, a phenomenon that may be the result of advanced imaging technologies such as echography and ct scanning; also, there seems to be a change in etiology, modality of presentation, and diagnostic and management modalities.
