Influence of Spatial Comfort and Environmental Workplace Ergonomics on Job Satisfaction of Librarians in the Federal and State University Libraries in Southern Nigeria
This study examined the influence of spatial
comfort and environmental workplace ergonomics on the job satisfaction of
librarians in the federal and state university libraries in Southern Nigeria.
The study adopted the survey research
design. The total enumeration technique was used to survey the 500
librarians from the 37 federal and
state universities libraries in Southern Nigeria. Descriptive statistics was
used to analyze the data collected. The findings revealed that there was
a positive relationship between ergonomics (spatial comfort and environmental
workplace factors) and job satisfaction. It was recommended that ergonomic
measures be introduced and implemented in the design of spatial comfort and
environmental workplace factors in the libraries for a greater job satisfaction
of the library workforce in Nigerian University libraries.
