Medeiros, Marcelo de Almeida;
Lua Nova: Revista de Cultura e Política , 2008, DOI: 10.1590/S0102-64452008000100001
Abstract: aiming at the development of the study of non-anglophone authors in the political science literature in brazil, this text seeks to approach the issues of both democracy and regionalism in jean-louis quermonne's bibliography. it has three parts. the first situates the author in the french political science scenario through a brief biography. the second part promotes a critical and comparative analysis of quemonne's works on democracy , i.e.: le gouvernement de la france sous la vème république, les régimes politiques occidentaux and les politiques institutionnelles. the third part inquires, also critically and comparatively, about quermonne's thinking on regionalism: le système politique de l'union européenne, l'europe et le fédéralisme and l'europe en quête de légitimité. finally, this article brings some conclusive considerations, pointing out both the importance of the french, in general, and quermonne's, in particular, political thought.

Globaliza??o, regionalismo e ordem internacional
Mello, Valérie de Campos;
Revista Brasileira de Política Internacional , 1999, DOI: 10.1590/S0034-73291999000100007
Abstract: this article examines the links between the process of economic globalization and the stability of the international order from the international political economy perspective. it argues that this perspective is the most appropriate to shed light on what is today the central issue in social sciences: the relation between states and markets, and the tension between an increasingly globalized economy and a territorially-defined political system. the paper discusses the ongoing transformations in the context of economic globalization and the shift to a post-westphalian political order, as well as its effects on the role of the state and on international relations. it then turns to the analysis of the meaning of regionalism, with the case study of the new areas of political integration within the european union, in particular the common foreign and security policy (cfsp). the european union provides evidence of the links between economic stability and political cooperation.

Some Observations on Indian Federalism in Comparative Perspective  [PDF]
Mauro Mazza
Beijing Law Review (BLR) , 2015, DOI: 10.4236/blr.2015.61004
Abstract: The article analyses the form of state of the federal Indian Union, which is rather atypical in the “landscape” of comparative constitutional law. The trend towards centralization of functions and powers, both at federal and state levels, probably constitutes some sort of quasi-federalism, or semi-federalism, or even unionist federalism. Indian pragmatic federalism, which we can mainly characterize as a variant of ethnic federalism, may well lead, in terms of the classification of the forms of state, to consider Indian federalism as unitary federalism, or as the realization of a sui generis unionist state.

Since knowing citizen perceptions is vital in understanding the resistance to consolidation, the paper concludes with findings from a 2012 Exit Poll in Dougherty County, GA.
EU Coordination Weaknesses: Transaction Costs  [PDF]
Jan-Erik Lane
Open Access Library Journal (OALib Journal) , 2016, DOI: 10.4236/oalib.1102800
Abstract:
Both the Euroland and the EURO projects face increasing scepticism from several member states as well as nationalist movements. The call for economic reforms augmenting flexibility and work zest in EU member states meets resistance, as it poses threats to the specific European welfare state. The management of the great refugee crisis has led to fundamental questioning of the concept of “Europeanisation” as the commitment of the EU to humanitarian goals and universal human rights. Where lays the basic weakness of the inefficient and bureacratic European model of regional integration? Reply: Transaction costs.
Um provinciano que n?o o era
Maggetti, Daniel;
Alea : Estudos Neolatinos , 2004, DOI: 10.1590/S1517-106X2004000200004
Abstract: if ramuz is not well known today, such was not the case during his lifetime. his peripheral condition as writer, the history surrounding the publication of his works, the (misunderstood) orientations of his aesthetics account for this situation. the publication of his novels at the "bibliothèque de la pléiade" should bring about a "reclassification" of ramuz, who would then find anew his proper place at the side of the writers who left their mark in the xx century.
