Por uma pesquisa imaginativa na forma??o do jovem pesquisador
Moraes, Rafael Vicente de;
Interface - Comunica??o, Saúde, Educa??o , 2007, DOI: 10.1590/S1414-32832007000100010
Abstract: this article discusses certain issues related with science and its internal ramifications from the viewpoint of capitalist production, based on a rationale oriented fundamentally by the combination of capitalist globalization and the monopolization of technical and scientific knowledge. man, having become an object of himself, is incapable of reflecting on himself and his practices, even though he may have developed refined mechanisms for understanding reality. the debate reveals the possibility of thinking about certain aspects of the training of young researchers in the field of the humanities, such as the lack of discussion of the boundaries and reach of scientific exercise. thus, one suggests the idea of imaginative research as a means to acquisition of knowledge, reflection and theoretical clarification.

Abstract: videos are increasingly used as informational support in health-related social intervention actions. the objective of this paper was to become acquainted with the cultural elements in health-related videos, since they are information transfer facilitators. studies on the use of health-related information in brazil, the strength of images in individuals' cognition process and the need to put conveyed information into context served as the basis for analyzing the finalists among videos at the third health-related video show, promoted by the oswaldo cruz foundation (fiocruz) and held in rio de janeiro in 1998. by observing some of the technical data on these videos, it was possible to identify the cultural setting within which they were produced. the cultural diversity present in communication actions within all spheres, including health promotion and disease prevention, is an essential element for social progress.

Moraes, Salete Campos de;
Educar em Revista , 2009, DOI: 10.1590/S0104-40602009000300013
Abstract: this paper examines the possibility of constructing alternative public education policies, not only theoretical proposals, but also educational policies that have been constructed in opposition to the brazilian tradition of vertical relations between the state and civil society. even taking into account the difficulties that characterise paradigm shift in education policies, it can be seen that new approaches to such policies have been constructed in a number of brazilian cities in recent years. these experiences reflect forms of government that involve the concept of democratisation of the relations between state and society, which may represent new hope for solving old problems.
Noemy Rudolfer e a organiza??o da escola e do mundo do trabalho nos anos 1920 e 1930
Moraes, José Damiro de;
Educa??o e Pesquisa , 2012, DOI: 10.1590/S1517-97022012000200014
Abstract: the 1920s/1930s are important to understand and perceive the organization of the state and the relations between capital and labor, as well as to construct a liberal educational thought. at the time, education was beginning to appear as a concern of the elites and of those in government, both in the discussions taking place within the brazilian education association (abe) and through the educational reforms of the states. psychology, striving to consolidate itself within the scientific arena, offered proposals in the field of education and labor for the orientation and formation of future leaders and followers. it was within this scenario that noemy rudolfer played an important role by thinking and acting in defense of educational psychology and its variants, such as professional orientation, targeted at the school environment. in both domains, she intended to put the right man at the right place. the expansion of control in the realm of labor and career choice within the educational field aimed at establishing psychology as a science that would skillfully avoid social conflict. rudolfer contributed to that project by strengthening and expanding the field through her activities in divulging and applying educational psychology and professional orientation in the country, thereby helping to shape a conservative modernization. based on her production and trajectory, we seek here to reveal rudolfer's contribution to the construction of such thinking in brazil in the 1920s/1930s, when a modernizing discourse was being adopted.

Souza, Claudia Moraes de;
Educa??o e Pesquisa , 2012, DOI: 10.1590/S1517-97022011005000007
Abstract: in the 1960s, the intervention on popular culture became an assumption of the political action of the modernizing agents of brazilian society. through the national conference of bishops of brazil (cnbb), the catholic church developed a nationwide educational project, linking its radio stations in brazil to the centers of radio education, and in 1961 it created the basic education movement (meb). the theoretical and philosophical assumptions of the movement transcended the issues of formal learning and were based on strategies of action of the catholic church on issues of economic growth and social development of the poor regions of brazil. this article is about the peasants who participated in the meb and their school experiences. it evaluates the precepts of rural education, civic education and adult literacy proposed in the action of the agents and the modernizing institutions of the brazilian countryside. i have analyzed the processes of assimilation and resistance of the peasants to the modernizing principles and projects outside their culture. new rhythms of time, representations and meanings were introduced by schools into the secular cultural practices of the brazilian peasantry. in the meb, this phenomenon resulted both in the assimilation of new stimuli brought by the school, and in the insurrection of customs and habits connected to the ritualistic and customary functions of the individual and / or rural community.
