Abstract: A novel blind estimate of direction of arrival (DOA) and Doppler frequency with unknown array manifold is proposed, employing Doppler frequency difference between a successive pulses as rotational parameter. The effectiveness of the new method is confirmed by computer simulations. Compared with the existing two-dimensional frequency estimates, the computation load of the proposed method can be saved greatly.
Improving the STAP Performance via Diagonal Loading

Abstract: Space-Time Adaptive Processing (STAP) is a key technology for moving target detection, but nonhomogeneity will cause the covariance matrix estimation error, which substantially results in the STAP performance degradation. Diagonal loading is used as a means to improve the robustness of the spatial filter against mismatches in both the desired spatial signature and the spatial correlation matrix. In this paper, we consider the diagonal loading is applied to the case of covariance matrix mismatch (statistical mismatch) for STAP, i.e. when there is a mismatch between the actual covariance matrix of interest and the presumed one. The selecting method of the loading level is given, and the particular performance analysis indicates that the rational diagonal loading can improve the detection probability and the output signal-to-noise ratio. Numerical simulations attest the validity of the analysis.
InSAR Interferometric Phase Estimation Based on Robust Beamforming

Abstract: A method of interferometric phase estimation based on the robust beamforming is proposed. The method can provide the accurate interferometric phase estimation, by correcting the spatial steering vector and by taking advantage of the coherence information of the neighboring pixels. Theoretical analysis and experimental results show that the method can present the accurate estimation of the interferometric phase even if the coregistration error be close to one pixel. The effectiveness and robustness of the technique is verified by the simulated and real data.
A New Method for Mitigating the Effect of NLOS Propagation in the TOA and AOA Hybrid Location System

Abstract: Based on the relationship between the errors of the Circular Lines of Position (LOPs) and the straight LOPs and that of the measured parameters, a hybrid locating system in which the Time Of Arrival (TOA) and the Angle Of Arrival (AOA) measured by the closest Base Station (BS) are combined is presented to mitigate the effect of Non-Line-Of-Sight (NLOS) propagation in this paper. In order to reduce the feasible region of the Mobile Station (MS) and to improve the accuracy of the location estimation, the restrictions that TOA estimates are always greater than the true TOA values and the angle spreads are always smaller than the maximum angle spread determined by the Geometrically Based Single Bounce Circular Model (GBSBCM) are used. Its effectiveness is verified by the simulation.
Algorithm Utilizing Derivative Based Updating to Compensate Clutter Range Dependence for Bistatic Airborne Radar

Abstract: Two new methods to compensate clutter range dependence for bistatic airborne radar are proposed in this paper. These methods are called DBU (Derivative Based Updating). The receiving slope distance and receiving elevation angle cosine in the direction of the main lobe of beam pattern are respectively utilized as updating parameter. The methods can mitigate the clutter range dependence, and improve the performance of Space-Time Adaptive Processing (STAP) in Ground Moving Target Indication (GMTI). The results of computer simulation show the effectiveness of the methods.
Quantifiable Analysis of the Effect of Amplitude Mismatch on Performance of the Successive Interference Canceller

Abstract: 基于幅度失配率,使用高斯近似方法给出有幅度失配的串行干扰消除检测器(SIC)的近似误码率递推公式.利用该公式,讨论了SIC中由于幅度失配而引起的误码率特性.通过引入正数η来刻画有幅度失配SIC误码性能与其上限(无幅度失配误码性能)的损失度,使用Lagrange中值定理和近似分析方法,推导出幅度失配率与信噪比以及η之间的定量分析公式.仿真表明,该定量分析公式揭示了幅度失配对系统性能的影响程度.
Combined MUSIC with ESPRIT Algorithm for Angle Estimation in Bistatic MIMO Radar System

Abstract: An algorithm combined MUSIC with ESPRIT for angle estimation based on two- or four-order statistics in bistatic MIMO radar system is presented in this paper. The proposed method based on two-order expectation is under the spatial Gaussian white noise environment and four-order cumulant the colored noise. By exploiting MUSIC with one-sensor owing to its extended array aperture and ESPRIT with two-sensor via the rotational invariance property of signal-subspace at the receive end, the Direction Of Departures (DODs) and Direction Of Arrivals (DOAs) of the targets can be estimated separately and paired automatically. The computational burden can be reduced since two-dimensional parameter estimation has been separated into two one-dimensional forms. Numerical results are presented to demonstrate the effectiveness of the method advanced.
Multi-Channel SAR-GMTI Technique and Performance Analysis Using Eigen-Decomposition

Abstract: A multi-channel SAR-GMTI technique based on eigen-decomposition of the covariance matrix is proposed. The variation of the sum of small eigenvalues of the covariance matrix is used to detect moving targets. The radial velocity of the moving target is estimated by two steps. Firstly, using the interferometric phase of two SAR images to get the coarse radial velocity estimation, then the more precise radial velocity is obtained by searching the space-domain steering vector of the moving target. It overcomes the sensitivity of the interferometric phase to clutter and noise. The effectiveness of the presented technique is demonstrated by both simulated and measured SAR data.
A Robust Adaptive Beamformer

Abstract: The linearly constrained adaptive beamformer is hypersensitive to the amplitude and phase errors of antenna array when the signal-to-noise ratio exceeds a certain threshold. Even if the array imperfections are slight, the beamformer suppresses the desired signals as if they are interference signals. In this paper, a robust adaptive beamformer in the presence of array imperfections is presented by improving the block matrix of the generalized side lobe canceller. Since this method is based on the structure of the generalize side lobe canceller, it is convenient to use its partial adaptive processing to reduce the computation load.
Ground Moving Target Indication of Space Based Sparse Array Scanned Pattern Interferometric Radar

Abstract: In theory, the Ground Moving Target Indication (GMTI) method of space based sparse array Scanned Pattern Interferometric Radar (SPIR) only works when there are no ambiguities in azimuth. By decomposing the Point Spread Function (PSF) matrix, It is proposed that SPIR can work even there are a few ambiguities in azimuth, i.e. the ground scene can be recovered to some degree. Also through simulation experiments, SPIR is found to get much better GMTI performance than that of general space-time cascade processing.
