Current situation on radiofrequency ablation of hepatic hemangioma

Abstract: The recent progress in radiofrequency ablation (RFA) of hepatic hemangioma was reviewed, with a focus on radiofrequency electrodes, treatment modalities, complications, and prevention strategies. The foundation for the standardization of RFA of hepatic hemangioma was laid. The standardization of RFA will help to promote its clinical application and development as an important minimally invasive technique for hepatic hemangioma.

Randomized Algorithms for Large-scale Inverse Problems with General Regularizations

Abstract: We shall investigate randomized algorithms for solving large-scale linear inverse problems with general regularizations. We first present some techniques to transform inverse problems of general form into the ones of standard form, then apply randomized algorithms to reduce large-scale systems of standard form to much smaller-scale systems and seek their regularized solutions in combination with some popular choice rules for regularization parameters. Then we will propose a second approach to solve large-scale ill-posed systems with general regularizations. This involves a new randomized generalized SVD algorithm that can essentially reduce the size of the original large-scale ill-posed systems. The reduced systems can provide approximate regularized solutions with about the same accuracy as the ones by the classical generalized SVD, and more importantly, the new approach gains obvious robustness, stability and computational time as it needs only to work on problems of much smaller size. Numerical results are given to demonstrated the efficiency of the algorithms.
Information Models of Acupuncture Analgesia and Meridian Channels

Abstract: Acupuncture and meridian channels have been major components of Chinese and Eastern Asian medicine—especially for analgesia—for over 2000 years. In recent decades, electroacupuncture (EA) analgesia has been applied clinically and experimentally. However, there were controversial results between different treatment frequencies, or between the active and the placebo treatments; and the mechanisms of the treatments and the related meridian channels are still unknown. In this study, we propose a new term of infophysics therapy and develop information models of acupuncture (or EA) analgesia and meridian channels, to understand the mechanisms and to explain the controversial results, based on Western theories of information, trigonometry and Fourier series, and physics, as well as published biomedical data. We are trying to build a bridge between Chinese medicine and Western medicine by investigating the Eastern acupuncture analgesia and meridian channels with Western sciences; we model the meridians as a physiological system that is mostly constructed with interstices in or between other physiological systems; we consider frequencies, amplitudes and wave numbers of electric field intensity (EFI) as information data. Our modeling results demonstrate that information regulated with acupuncture (or EA) is different from pain information, we provide answers to explain the controversial published results, and suggest that mechanisms of acupuncture (or EA) analgesia could be mostly involved in information regulation of frequencies and amplitudes of EFI as well as neuronal transmitters such as endorphins.
Automatic Human Gait Imitation and Recognition in 3D from Monocular Video with an Uncalibrated Camera

Abstract: A framework of imitating real human gait in 3D from monocular video of an uncalibrated camera directly and automatically is proposed. It firstly combines polygon-approximation with deformable template-matching, using knowledge of human anatomy to achieve the characteristics including static and dynamic parameters of real human gait. Then, these characteristics are processed in regularization and normalization. Finally, they are imposed on a 3D human motion model with prior constrains and universal gait knowledge to realize imitating human gait. In recognition based on this human gait imitation, firstly, the dimensionality of time-sequences corresponding to motion curves is reduced by NPE. Then, we use the essential features acquired from human gait imitation as input and integrate HCRF with SVM as a whole classifier, realizing identification recognition on human gait. In associated experiment, this imitation framework is robust for the object’s clothes and backpacks to a certain extent. It does not need any manual assist and any camera model information. And it is fitting for straight indoors and the viewing angle for target is between 60° and 120°. In recognition testing, this kind of integrated classifier HCRF/SVM has comparatively higher recognition rate than the sole HCRF, SVM and typical baseline method.

These compounds were identified through spectral analysis (IR, UV, 1HNMR, 13CNMR, MS) as lupane-17-(29-propylol) (1), octacosanoic acid (2), 23-lanostene-3-alcohol (3), 22, 24-cyc-loartenone-3-α-p-hydroxy-cassia-acid (4), hexodecanoic acid (5).
A Dynamic Web Service Composition Algorithm Based on TOPSIS

Abstract: Multi-period QoS evaluations have to be considered for obtaining a reliable decision in the service selection process. Besides, open and dynamic Internet environment increased the uncertainty of decision-making. To solve the above difficulties, this paper presents a novel hybrid data type (including real numbers, interval numbers, triangular fuzzy numbers and intuitionistic fuzzy numbers) QoS model, multi-period hybrid QoS aggregating operator and a strategy for aggregating composition service QoS firstly. Furthermore, a dynamic Web service composition algorithm based on TOPSIS (DWSCA_TOPSIS) is presented to evaluate multi-period hybrid QoS data. DWSCA_TOPSIS includes four main steps: converting hybrid QoS into intervals, calculating weighted normalized decision-matrix, determining the positive-ideal and negative-ideal solution, calculating the close-degrees of candidates. Finally, some experiments are given using actual QoS data to demonstrate the benefits and effectiveness of our approach.
