Parameter Uncertainty Estimation by Using the Concept of Ideal Data in GLUE Approach  [PDF]

Abstract: The hydrological uncertainty about NASH model parameters is investigated and addressed in the paper through “ideal data” concept by using the Generalized Likelihood Uncertainty Estimation (GLUE) methodology in an application to the small Yanduhe research catchment in Yangtze River, China. And a suitable likelihood measure is assured here to reduce the uncertainty coming from the parameters relationship. “Ideal data” is assumed to be no error for the input-output data and model structure. The relationship between parameters k and n of NASH model is clearly quantitatively demonstrated based on the real data and it shows the existence of uncertainty factors different from the parameter one. Ideal data research results show that the accuracy of data and model structure are the two important preconditions for parameter estimation. And with suitable likelihood measure, the parameter uncertainty could be decreased or even disappeared. Moreover it is shown how distributions of predicted discharge errors are non-Gaussian and vary in shape with time and discharge under the single existence of parameter uncertainty or under the existence of all uncertainties.

Abstract: This paper will introduce the function systems approach to study the mathematicalproperties of Backus functional programming language FP.Here,a function system isdefined as a set of functions o FP.In the paper,we define the notions of complete,orthogonaland orthonormal systems,and prove their principal properties.These properties are used in thediscussion of the completeness of FP program algebra and properties of the expansion ofprogram in orthogonal systems.

Abstract: Based on the theory of orthogonal program expansion8–10], the paper proposes a method to transform programs by solving program equations. By the method, transformation goals are expressed in program equations, and achieved by solving these equations. Although such equations are usually too complicated to be solved directly, the orthogonal expansion of programs makes it possible to reduce such equations into systems of equations only containing simple constructors of programs. Then, the solutions of such equations can be derived by a system of solving and simplifying rules, and algebraic laws of programs. The paper discusses the methods to simplify and solve equations and gives some examples.

The effects of comprehensive nursing interventions on sexual functions in young and middle-aged patients with coronary stent implantation  [PDF]

Abstract: Objective: To study the effects of comprehensive nursing interventions on sexual functions in young and middle-aged patients with coronary stent implantation. Methods: 96 cases of coronary stent implantation were randomly divided into control group and intervention group (experimental group) with each group of 48 cases. The control group received the routine nursing measures after the coronary stent implantation and the experimental group was treated by the comprehensive nursing interventions such as psychological nursing, education of sexual knowledge, playing the full enthusiasm of spouse and appropriate exercise therapy on basis of the routine nursing measures. The two groups were given the questionnaire of brief male sexual function questionnaire (BSFI), Chinese patients with premature ejaculation sexual function score (C-ISFPE) and the international index of erectile function (IIEF-5). The scores of BSFI, C-ISFPE and IIEF-5 were compared between the two groups. Results: There were 29 cases who were satisfied with sexual life on the whole (≤1), 26 cases with different degrees of premature ejaculation symptoms and 21 cases with erectile dysfunctions, which were respectively 27.08%, 30.2% and 21.87% of the total number. The scores of BSFI, C-ISFPE and IIEF-5 inthe experimental group were significantly increased after the interventions (P < 0.05). The BSFI scores of the experimental group were significantly higher than those of the control group (P < 0.05) and the C-ISFPE and IIEF-5 scores in the two groups were significantly different (P < 0.05). Conclusions: The comprehensive nursing interventions can effectively improve the sexual functions and enhance the quality of life of young and middle-aged patients with coronary stent implantation.

Abstract: Revised Hipparcos data were released by van Leeuwen in 2007. In this article revised Hipparcos trigonometrical parallaxes are used to derive a period-luminosity zero-point in the optical V band. Adopting a fixed slope of 2.81 from the LMC, a zero-point value of ρ= 1.37±0.07 is derived based on the method by Feast and Catchpole (1997). This value yields an LMC distance modulus of 18.64 mag, which makes a minor change in H 0 expected from Feast and Catchpole’s result in 1997.

Abstract: This paper proposes an approach to synthesize functional programs of Backus‘ FP system^1,2] from input/output instances.Based on a theory of orthogonal expansion of programs^3,4],the task of program synthesis is expressed in program equations,and fulfilled by solving them according to the knowledge about the equivalence between programs.Some general knowledge of solving program equations with a number of examples are given in the paper.

Abstract: The asymmetric unit of the title compound, [Ni2(C8H6O8)(C12H8N2)2(H2O)6]·6H2O, contains a half of the centrosymmetric dinuclear complex molecule and three uncoordinated water molecules. In the dinuclear molecule, two NiII cations are bridged by the butane-1,2,3,4-tetracarboxylate (BTC4 ) anion. Each NiII atom is coordinated by two N atoms from the 1,10-phenanthroline ligand, one O atom from the BTC4 anion and three aqua ligands in a distorted octahedral geometry. Intermolecuar O—H...O hydrogen bonds and π–π stacking interations [centroid–centroid distances = 3.646 (2), 3.781 (2) and 3.642 (2) ] consolidate the crystal packing.

Abstract: The asymmetric unit of the title compound, {[Tb(C8H2NO6)(H2O)3]·H2O}n, contains one TbIII ion, one pyridine-2,4,6-tricarboxylate (ptc) anion, three aqua ligands and one lattice water molecule. The TbIII ion is nine coordinated by one N and five O atoms from three ptc ligands and by three O atoms from the three aqua ligands in a distorted bicapped trigonal–prismatic geometry. The ptc ligands bridge the TbIII ions into a two-dimensional polymeric framework parallel to (100). An extensive O—H...O hydrogen-bonding network consolidates the crystal packing.
