Existence and Nonexistence of Global Solutions of a Fully Nonlinear Parabolic Equation  [PDF]
Zhihao Ge
Advances in Pure Mathematics (APM) , 2013, DOI: 10.4236/apm.2013.31004
Abstract: In the paper, we study the global existence of weak solution of the fully nonlinear parabolic problem (1.1)-(1.3) with nonlinear boundary conditions for the situation without strong absorption terms. Also, we consider the blow up of global solution of the problem (1.1)-(1.3) by using the convexity method.
Evaluation of Intersection Performance Under Atc System in Wuhan  [PDF]
Huan Ge, Zhiyun Zou, Zhihao Zhou
Intelligent Information Management (IIM) , 2011, DOI: 10.4236/iim.2011.34012
Abstract: In order to accurately evaluate the implementation of Area Traffic Control (ATC) system, two situations were compared in this paper, i.e., comparison of intersection performance under two different operation conditions before and after the application of ATC system. Based on floating car theorem, this paper investigated the average intersection delay and the average vehicle stop times. During the traffic investigation, ArcGIS, GPS, VC++ and other technologies have been applied. In addition, the evaluation indices of intersection performance average intersection delay and average vehicle stop times (Guiyan Jiang et al., 2006) were selected and compared. The results showed that both average intersection delay and average vehicle stop times have been reduced after the implementation of ATC system. Improvement of traffic condition is more obvious under cooperative control status. This paper provided a reference for testing the performance of intersections under ATC system.
Analysis of a new stabilized discontinuous Galerkin method for the reaction-diffusion problem with discontinuous coefficient
Zhihao Ge,Jiwei Cao
Mathematics , 2014,
Abstract: In this paper, a new stabilized discontinuous Galerkin method within a new function space setting is introduced, which involves an extra stabilization term on the normal fluxes across the element interfaces. It is different from the general DG methods. The formulation satisfies a local conservation property and we prove well posedness of the new formulation by Inf-Sup condition. A priori error estimates are derived, which are verified by a 2D experiment on a reaction-diffusion type model problem.
Infinite multiplicity for inhomogeneous supercritical problem in entire space
Baishun Lai,Zhihao Ge
Mathematics , 2010,
Abstract: In this paper, we will prove the existence of infinitely many positive solutions to the following supercritical problem by using the Liapunov-Schmidt reduction method and asymptotic analysis: {ll}\Delta u + u^{p}+f(x)=0, u>0 {in} R^{n}, \lim_{|x|\to\infty}u(x)\to 0.
A new variational formulation based on discontinuous Galerkin technique for a reaction-diffusion problem
Zhihao Ge,Jiwei Cao
Mathematics , 2012,
Abstract: In this paper, a new variational formulation based on discontinuous Galerkin technique for a reaction-diffusion problem is introduced, and the discontinuous Galerkin technique of this work is different from the general discontinuous Galerkin methods. The well posedness of the new formulation is given. Finally, it is pointed that the new variational formulation will be helpful to design better hybrid numerical methods which will not only strongly stable in spatial variable and absolutely stable in temporal variable but also be optimally convergent.
Numerical Methods for the Bogoliubov-Tolmachev-Shirkov model in superconductivity theory
Zhihao Ge,Ruihua Li
Mathematics , 2014,
Abstract: In the work, the numerical methods are designed for the Bogoliubov-Tolmachev-Shirkov model in superconductivity theory. The numerical methods are novel and effective to determine the critical transition temperature and approximate to the energy gap function of the above model. Finally, a numerical example confirming the theoretical results is presented.
Stability analysis of a ratio-dependent predator-prey system with diffusion and stage structure
Xinyu Song,Zhihao Ge,Jingang Wu
International Journal of Mathematics and Mathematical Sciences , 2006, DOI: 10.1155/ijmms/2006/13948
Abstract: A two-species predator-prey system with diffusion term and stage structure is discussed, local stability of the system is studied using linearization method, and global stability of the system is investigated by strong upper and lower solutions. The asymptotic behavior of solutions and the negative effect of stage structure on the permanence of populations are given.
Multiphysics Finite Element Methods for a Poroelasticity Model
Xiaobing Feng,Zhihao Ge,Yukun Li
Mathematics , 2014,
Abstract: This paper concerns with finite element approximations of a quasi-static poroelasticity model in displacement-pressure formulation which describes the dynamics of poro-elastic materials under an applied mechanical force on the boundary. To better describe the multiphysics process of deformation and diffusion for poro-elastic materials, we first present a reformulation of the original model by introducing two pseudo-pressures, one of them is shown to satisfy a diffusion equation, we then propose a time-stepping algorithm which decouples (or couples) the reformulated PDE problem at each time step into two sub-problems, one of which is a generalized Stokes problem for the displacement vector field (of the solid network of the poro-elastic material) along with one pseudo-pressure field and the other is a diffusion problem for the other pseudo-pressure field (of the solvent of the material). In the paper, the Taylor-Hood mixed finite element method combined with the $P_1$-conforming finite element method is used as an example to demonstrate the viability of the proposed multiphysics approach. It is proved that the solutions of the fully discrete finite element methods fulfill a discrete energy law which mimics the differential energy law satisfied by the PDE solution and converges optimally in the energy norm. Moreover, it is showed that the proposed formulation also has a built-in mechanism to overcome so-called "locking phenomenon" associated with the numerical approximations of the poroelasticity model. Numerical experiments are presented to show the performance of the proposed approach and methods and to demonstrate the absence of "locking phenomenon" in our numerical experiments.
Background Characteristics of Board Secretary and IPO Underpricing  [PDF]
Zhihao Lin
Modern Economy (ME) , 2017, DOI: 10.4236/me.2017.811090
Abstract: The information asymmetry between the internal environment and external environment of enterprises composes one of essential factors leading to IPO underpricing. According to upper echelon theory, background characteristics of senior executives will exert an impact on their behaviors selections as well as the performance of company. The board secretary in China, as the information publisher, can also influence IPO underpricing with his/her personal background. Testing the samples of GEM (The Growth Enterprise Market) in China from the year of 2009 to 2012, the paper concluded that the board secretary with financial background and related working experience can reduce the IPO underpricing, based on which the conclusion has been drawn that the personal background characteristics can influence IPO underpricing and further affect the IPO pricing efficiency, hoping to provide reference for enterprises to recruit the right person for board secretary.
A Brief Discussion on Legal Risks of Beijing Winter Olympics  [PDF]
Zhihao Zhang
Open Journal of Social Sciences (JSS) , 2018, DOI: 10.4236/jss.2018.612024
Abstract: Beijing Winter Olympics organizing committee is the risk subject. Incomplete laws and regulations, contractual risks and operational risks are the sources of legal risks, and legal risk identification, legal risk assessment and legal risk response are risk prevention and control procedures of the legal risks of Beijing Winter Olympics. On a macro level, comprehensive prevention and control in protection of laws and regulations, formulation of emergency plans, personnel training and introduction of professional legal services should be taken in.
