Logistics and Regional Economic Growth - Evidence from the Space Econometric Panel Data from China

Abstract: Unlike the traditional economic growth model, spatial contact must be noted when we construct relative models in the study of the relationship between logistics industry development and regional economic. With the use of space panel econometric model and CD production function, by constructing a regional logistics industry development and regional economic growth economic model, the study about the economic growth of China's provinces and the logistics industry during 1988-2009 is carried out. The results show that there are significant spatial correlation between Chinese province's economic growth and development of the logistics industry. 1 percent increase in the neighboring provinces logistics industry will make the province's GDP increase about 0.15 percent. Finally, according to estimations, some relevant policy recommendations are given.

Abstract: In the title compound, C21H26F3NO6+·CF3COO ·CH3OH or S-MNTX·CF3COO ·CH3OH (MNTX = methylnaltrexone), the conformation of the polycyclic backbone of the noroxymorphone skeleton can be simplified in terms of the angles between the least-squares planes of these rings. The dihedral angle between the cyclohexene and piperidine rings is 84.5 (6)°, while the dihedral angles between the planes of cyclohexane ring and the benzene, cyclohexene and piperidine rings, respectively, are 85.8 (6),80.0 (7) and 10.3 (7)°. In the crystal, molecules are linked by O—H...O hydrogen bonds. The trifluoroacetate F atoms are disordered in a 0.710 (14):0.710 (14) ratio. The absolute stereochemistry was inferred from the use of (4R,4aS,7aR,12bS)-3-(cyclopropylmethyl)-4a,9-dihydroxy-2,3,4,4a,5,6-hexahydro-1H-4,12-methanobenzofuro[3,2-e]isoquinolin-7(7aH)-one as one of the starting materials.

Abstract: In the title compound [systematic name: (4R,4aS,7aR,12bS)-3-cyclopropylmethyl-4a,9-hydroxy-7-oxo-2,3,4,4a,5,6,7,7a-octahydro-1H-4,12-methanobenzofuro[3,2-e]isoquinolin-3-ium bromide methanol monosolvate], C21H26NO4+·Br ·CH3OH, two of the three six-membered rings adopt chair conformations while the third, which contains a C=C double bond, adopts an approximate half-boat conformation. The 2,3-dihydrofuran ring adopts an envelope conformation. In the crystal, the components are linked by O—H...O and O—H...Br hydrogen bonds. The absolute stereochemistry was inferred from one of the starting materials.
Synthesis and Antifungal Activity of N-(Substituted pyridinyl)-1-methyl(phenyl)-3-(trifluoromethyl)-1H-pyrazole-4-carboxamide Derivatives

Abstract: A series of N-(substituted pyridinyl)-1-methyl(phenyl)-3-trifluoromethyl-1H-pyrazole-4-carboxamide derivatives were synthesized. All target compounds were characterized by spectral data (1H-NMR, 13C-NMR, IR, MS) and elemental analysis and were bioassayed in vitro against three kinds of phytopathogenic fungi (Gibberella zeae, Fusarium oxysporum, Cytospora mandshurica). The results showed that some of the synthesized N-(substituted pyridinyl)-1-methyl-3-trifluoromethyl-1H-pyrazole-4-carboxamides exhibited moderate antifungal activities, among which compounds 6a, 6b and 6c displayed more than 50% inhibition activities against G. zeae at 100 μg/mL, which was better than that of the commercial fungicides carboxin and boscalid.

Abstract: Quantum Dots (QDs) have become an interesting subject of study for labeling and drug delivery in biomedical research due to their unique responses to external stimuli. In this paper, the biological effects of a novel hydrogel based QD nano-structure on E. coli bacteria are presented. The experimental evidence reveals that cadmium telluride (CdTe) QDs that are encapsulated inside biocompatible polymeric shells have reduced or negligible toxicity to this model cell system, even when exposed at higher dosages. Furthermore, a preliminary gene expression study indicates that QD-hydrogel nanospheres do not inhibit the Green Fluorescent Protein (GFP) gene expression. As the biocompatible and externally tunable polymer shells possess the capability to control the QD packing density at nanometer scales, the resulting luminescence efficiency of the nanostructures, besides reducing the cytotoxic potential, may be suitable for various biomedical applications.

Graphene with the secondary amine-terminated zigzag edge as a line electron emitter

Abstract: An extraordinary low vacuum barrier height of 2.30 eV has been found on the zigzag-edge of graphene terminated with the secondary amine via the ab initio calculation. This edge structure has a flat band of edge states attached to the gamma point where the transversal kinetic energy is vanishing. We show that the field electron emission is dominated by the flat band. The edge states pin the Fermi level to a constant, leading to an extremely narrow emission energy width. The graphene with such edge is a promising line field electron emitter that can produce highly coherent emission current.
Comment on slope of nonlinear FN plot and field enhancement factor

Abstract: It is common practice to extract field enhancement factor from the slope of FN plot. Many experimentalists working on field electron emission had reported multi-(linear segment) FN plots, which can be divided into several (usually two) linear segments. Then multi-(field enhancement factor) were extracted from the FN plot. They claimed that the field enhancement factor increases with applied field if the FN plot bends downward (vice versus if the FN plot bends upward). We show that this is contrary to fact.
Characteristic frequency of the magnetic radiation of spinor condensates

Abstract: The magnetic radiation of the fully-condensed states of $^{23}$Na condensates have been studied. A narrow characteristic spectral line with a wave length proportional to N^(-2/5) (N is the number of particles) and with a probability of transition proportional to N^(17/5) emitted (absorbed) by the condensate was found. It implies that short wave radiation with a huge probability of transition can be obtained if numerous atoms are trapped. A new technique developed by the authors, namely, the analytical forms of the fractional parentage coefficients, was used to calculate analytically the matrix elements between the total spin-states.
