A Quantity Discount Pricing Model Based on the Standard Container under Asymmetric Information  [PDF]

Abstract: A supply chain system is studied, in which the information about the retailer’s storage cost is usually asymmetric. This paper studies the inventory control in the system and presents a quantity discount pricing model for inventory coordination based on the standard container, a transport tool from the supplier to the retailer with a fixed size. First, it investigates the inventory models under full information. Before inventory coordination, the supplier and the retailer my-opically choose their lot sizes, which is not the optimal decision for the whole system. Then, it presents an incentive scheme under asymmetric information from the point of view of the supplier. It also discusses the solution and the distribution of the incremental profits after the incentive scheme is adopted by both the supplier and the retailer. A con-stant in the model, which affects the distribution of the incremental profits, is optimized for the supplier by using numerical analysis. Finally, an example illustrates the application of the model. After inventory coordination, both the supplier and the retailer have a positive incremental profit.

Abstract: For actively modulated In-line Sagnac interferential all optic fiber current transformers (AOFCTs), the accuracies are directly affected by the amplitude of the modulation signal. In order to deeply undertand the function of the modulator, a theoretical model of modulation effect to AOFCTs is built up in this paper. The effect of the amplitude of the modulation signal to the output intensity of AOFCTs is theoretically formulated and numerical calculated. The results show that the modulation voltage variation could affect the output accuracies significantly. This might be some references on the investigation for practical applications of AOFCTs.
Ionic liquids as green reaction media for synthesis of poly(aryl ether ketone)s

Abstract: Poly(aryl ether ketone)s (PAEKs) were successfully synthesized via nucleophilic aromatic substitution (SNAR) mechanism, using ionic liquids as green reaction media. The influence of various reaction parameters including monomer concentration, dehydration time, polymerization temperature and duration, IL’s cations and anions nature, upon PAEKs molecular weight was investigated. In addition, the peculiarities of hydrogen-bonding ability of ILs were investigated. The interaction of 2,2-bis(4-hydroxyphenyl) propane (bisphenol A) with ILs has a strong influence on PAEKs synthesis. Various moderate molecular weight PAEKs have been obtained in high yields with molecular weights ranging from 10000 to 18000 g mol 1.
Stability of traveling waves of nonlinear Schr?dinger equation with nonzero condition at infinity

Abstract: We study the stability of traveling waves of nonlinear Schr\"odinger equation with nonzero condition at infinity obtained via a constrained variational approach. Two important physical models are Gross-Pitaevskii (GP) equation and cubic-quintic equation. First, under a non-degeneracy condition we prove a sharp instability criterion for 3D traveling waves of (GP), which had been conjectured in the physical literature. This result is also extended for general nonlinearity and higher dimensions, including 4D (GP) and 3D cubic-quintic equations. Second, for cubic-quintic type sub-critical or critical nonlinearity, we construct slow traveling waves and prove their nonlinear instability in any dimension. For traveling waves without vortices (i.e. nonvanishing) of general nonlinearity in any dimension, we find the sharp condition for linear instability. Third, we prove that any 2D traveling wave of (GP) is transversally unstable and find the sharp interval of unstable transversal wave numbers. Near unstable traveling waves of above cases, we construct unstable and stable invariant manifolds.
Study of DDT and its derivatives DDD, DDE adsorption and degradation over Fe-SBA-15 at low temperature

Abstract: Mesoporous SBA-15 with different Fe2O3 loading were synthesized by an in-situ coating progress for removals of dichlorodiphenyltrichloroethane (DDT) and its derivatives, i.e., 1,1-dichloro-2,2-bis-(p-chlorophenyl)ethane (DDD) and 1,1-dichloro-2,2-bis-(4-chloro -phenyl) ethane (DDE). The results from XRD (X-ray diffractometer), TEM (transmission electron microscopy) indicated that the iron could be well dispersed on SBA-15 within 6 wt.% Fe2O3 loading. Nitrogen adsorption-desorption tests indicated that the synthesized materials were characterized by ordered meso-structure, high surface area and large pore volume. DDTs were removed from aqueous media in 12-hr treatment and high removal efficiency of DDTs was achieved at over 94%. DDTs could be completely degraded at 350℃ under the existence of SBA-15 with 4 wt.% Fe2O3 loading. The final degradation products of DDT were dichlorobenzophenone (DCB) and bis-(4-chloro-phenyl) methane (DDM), suggesting a complete dechlorination from trichloromethyl.
Characterization of PM2.5/PM2.5–10 and source tracking in the juncture belt between urban and rural areas of Beijing

Abstract: Coarse (PM2.5–10) and fine (PM2.5) atmospheric particulate samples were collected in summer and winter during 2005–2007 in the juncture belt between urban and rural areas of Beijing. Elements, ions, organic/elemental carbon (OC/EC) and polynuclear aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) were determined to obtain some latest information about the particulate pollution in the juncture belt of Beijing. Particulate matter levels at this site were high as compared with the levels at other sampling sites in Beijing. Pollution elements, secondary ions and PAHs were enriched in fine particles rather than in coarse particles. An obvious seasonal variation of the chemical composition of PM was observed. Source apportionment results showed that secondary components were the largest mass contributor of PM2.5, accounting for 28%; whereas soil-related sources were the largest contributor of PM2.5–10, explaining about 49% of the total mass. The abnormal levels of soil heavy metals at the electronic waste disassembly site in the upwind villages suggested the potential impact of such activities to the environment.
Highly Sensitive Fluorescence Probe Based on Functional SBA-15 for Selective Detection of Hg2+

Abstract: An inorganic–organic hybrid fluorescence chemosensor (DA/SBA-15) was prepared by covalent immobilization of a dansylamide derivative into the channels of mesoporous silica material SBA-15 via (3-aminopropyl)triethoxysilane (APTES) groups. The primary hexagonally ordered mesoporous structure of SBA-15 was preserved after the grafting procedure. Fluorescence characterization shows that the obtained inorganic–organic hybrid composite is highly selective and sensitive to Hg2+ detection, suggesting the possibility for real-time qualitative or quantitative detection of Hg2+ and the convenience for potential application in toxicology and environmental science.
Conditionally Suboptimal Filtering in Nonlinear Stochastic Differential System  [PDF]

Abstract: This paper presents a novel conditionally suboptimal filtering algorithm on estimation problems that arise in discrete nonlinear time-varying stochastic difference systems. The suboptimal state estimate is formed by summing of conditionally nonlinear filtering estimates that their weights depend only on time instants, in contrast to conditionally optimal filtering, the proposed conditionally suboptimal filtering allows parallel processing of information and reduce online computational requirements in some nonlinear stochastic difference system. High accuracy and efficiency of the conditionally suboptimal nonlinear filtering are demonstrated on a numerical example.
Synthesis of 3-D ordered macroporous silicate using the template formed from monodispersed polystyrene latex

Abstract: Based on the template formed from monodispersed polystyrene (PS) latex, a modified fast sol-gel process was employed to synthesize a three-dimensional (3-D) ordered macroporous silica material after removing the template by calcination at high temperature. It was indicated that there existed highly ordered packed pores within the whole silica material by SEM morphology observation. It was also found that the pores were interconnected. The pore size could be controlled mainly by varying the particle size of the latex ranging from 101 to 102 nm. The formation process of the ordered pores was also preliminarily discussed.

Abstract: We present a method to realize viscoelastic boundary condition in ANSYS finite element software by using the Combin 14 element.The numerical results show that the method can well absorb the boundary reflection wave,and is insensitive to change of boundary normal stiffness parameters while the tangential stiffness parameters keep constant,and vice versa.The results also verify the effectiveness and stability of the method.
