Abstract: The effect of pumping laser intensity on electromagnetically induced transparency (EIT) in the cesium atomic three-level system was investigated, and the EIT against double-pumping laser was obtained. The theoretical explanation was put forward using density matrix, and the experimental results is in agreement with theoretical calculation.

Abstract: 在铯原子简并二能级系统中6S1/2F=4—6P3/2 F'=5 的循环跃迁上获得了电磁感应吸收(EIA)峰,并研究了轴向均匀磁场对二能级系统相干效应的影响,即存在轴向均匀磁场时,观测到在铯原子6S1/2F=4—6P3/2F'=5 跃迁频率处EIA和电磁诱导透明(EIT)的混合结构,在合适的实验条件下,其结果与Ye等(2002)的理论分析相一致.

Abstract: We present an experimental study on electromagnetically induced absorption (EIA) in the closed transition of a degenerate two-level Cs atomic system.The coupling and probe lasers coupled with the transition 6S1/2 F=4 to 6P3/2F'=5 of caesium atom. The signal of EIA was obtained and the frequency detuning and intensity effect of the pumping laser were experimentally investigated. The EIA signal in 6S1/2 F =4 to 6P3/2F'=4 and 6S1/2 F =4 to 6P3/2F'=3 open transitions was also obtained. As the repumping laser couples with the transition of 6S1/2 F =3 to 6P3/2F'=4, the EIA signal is increased due to the hyperfine optical pumping.

Abstract: Slowing a light pulse in a degenerate two-level system is observed with a double-frequency sweeping technique. The effects of coupling beam intensity, cell temperature and frequency detunings of the coupling and probe beams in resonance, on the slowing of light propagation in such a system are investigated. It is found that group velocities depend strongly on polarization combinations. A group velocity $v_{\rm g}$=6760m/s of light pulses in caesium vapour is obtained under the optimal parameters.

Abstract: A novel method of high-resolution spectroscopy of gases is proposed. The method is based on observing the optical behaviour of thin vapour layer when the particles cross the light beam or collide with the cell walls. The atomic motion and electronic quenching on gas-solid interfaces are explored by numerical analysis. The periodicity of peak values of transmission spectra and its derivative spectra demonstrates a sub-Doppler structure corresponding to the resonant transitions.

Abstract: The sub-Doppler transmission spectrum in a thin vapour layer (about 150 μm) was observed at room temperature using the wavelength modulation technology. The absorption signal and its second-order harmonic were detected with an external-cavity diode laser. A sub-Doppler spectrum corresponding to resonant transitions of the caesium D_2 line (6S_{1/2}→6P_{3/2}) was demonstrated. The dependence of the transmission signal on the intensity of the laser was also investigated.

Abstract: Refractive indices and extinction coefficients of 0.92Pb(Mg1/3Nb2/3)O3-0.08PbTiO3(PMN-0.08PT) single crystal are investigated by variable angle spectroscopic ellipsometry (VASE) at different wavelengths. The parameters relative to the energy band structure are obtained by fitting to the single-oscillator dispersion equation, and the band gap energy is also deduced from the Tauc equation. Similar to most oxygen-octahedra ferroelectrics, PMN-0.08PT has the same dispersion behavior described by the refractive-index dispersion parameters.

Abstract: We report on the observation of ultracold ground electric-state cesium molecules produced directly in a magneto- optical trap with a good signal-to-noise ratio. These molecules arise from the photoassociation of magneto-optical trap lasers and they are detected by resonantly enhanced multiphoton ionization technology. The production rate of ultracold cesium molecules is up to 4×104 s-1. We measure the characteristic time of the ground electric-state cesium molecules generated in the experiment and investigate the Cs2+ molecular ion intensity as a function of the trapping laser intensity and the ionization pulse laser energy. We conclude that the production of cold cesium molecules may be enhanced by using appropriate experimental parameters, which is useful for future experiments involving the production and trapping of ultracold ground electric-state molecules.
