Digital Current Control of Switched Reluctance Motor
Zeki Omac,Hasan Kurum,Ahmet Hakan Selcuk
International Journal of Electrical and Power Engineering , 2012, DOI: 10.3923/ijepe.2011.54.61
Abstract: In this study, the torque produced by a switched reluctance motor having 18 poles in stator and 12 poles in rotor is calculated by using Finite element method. 18/12 SRM is compared with 12/8 and 6/4 poles SRMs according to their radial forces acting on rotor poles. Closed loop current model of the SRM under interest is also built and simulation results are obtained by computer. Closed loop current control application of SRM is performed by using a TMS320LF2407A Digital Signal Processor (DSP). Simulation results of closed loop current control of the SRM are compared with experimental results
Prefixes of Degree in English: A Cognitive-Corpus Analysis  [PDF]
Zeki Hamawand
Open Journal of Modern Linguistics (OJML) , 2011, DOI: 10.4236/ojml.2011.12003
Abstract: This paper provides a new analysis of prefixes of degree in English which include hyper-, mega-, super-, sur- and ultra-. In carrying out the analysis, it adopts two approaches. Theoretically, it adopts Cognitive Semantics (CS) and tries to substantiate some of its tenets with reference to prefixation. One tenet is that linguistic items are meaningful. On this basis, the paper argues that prefixes of degree have a wide range of meanings that gather around a central sense. Another tenet is that the meaning of a linguistic item is best understood in terms of the domain to which it belongs. On this basis, the paper argues that prefixes of degree form a set in which they highlight not only similarities but also differences. A further tenet is that the use of an expression is governed by the particular construal imposed on its content. On this basis, the paper argues that a derived word results from the particular construal the speaker chooses to describe a situation. Empirically, the paper adopts Corpus Linguistics, which helps identify the distinctive collocates associated with the members of a pair and, consequently, reveal the subtle differences in meaning between them. The aim is to show that the members of a pair are not synonymous, as has hitherto been claimed by previous paradigms or current dictionaries, but distinctive in use.
Cardiac Involvement in Glycogen Storage Disease Type IV: Two Cases and the Two Ends of a Spectrum

Case Reports in Medicine , 2012, DOI: 10.1155/2012/764286
Abstract: Glycogen storage disease type IV (GSD IV) is an autosomal recessive disorder due to the deficiency of α 1,4-glucan branching enzyme, resulting in an accumulation of amylopectin-like polysaccharide in various systems. We describe two cases, a 23-year-old girl with dilated cardiomyopathy who presented with progressive dyspnea and fatigue and a 28-year-old girl with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy who was asymptomatic, secondary to the accumulation of amylopectin-like fibrillar glycogen, in heart. In both patients, the diagnosis was confirmed by enzyme assessment. Our patients showed that GSD IV is not only liver or skeletal muscle disease, but also it can be presented in different form of the spectrum of cardiomyopathy from dilated to hypertrophic and from asymptomatic to decompensated heart failure. Also, to our knowledge, this is the first hypertrophic cardiomyopathy case due to GSD IV in the literature.
Sample surveys via electronic mail: a comprehensive perspective
Simsek, Zeki;
Revista de Administra??o de Empresas , 1999, DOI: 10.1590/S0034-75901999000100009
Abstract: although postal questionnaires, personal interviewing, and telephone interviewing are the main methods of survey-based research, there is an increasing use of e-mail as a data collection medium. however, little, if any, published western research in general and that of turkish in particular have investigated e-mail survey technique from pure survey research perspective. attempting to develop a framework to assess e-mail as a data collection mean, the purpose of this study is to explore e-mail-based questionnaire technique from complementary angles. to this goal, sample representativeness, data quality, response rates, and advantages and disadvantages of e-mail surveying are discussed.

Abstract: Sayyid Taha al-Hakkari kept the scholar tradition he learned from his teacher Mawlana Khalid al-Baghdadi alive in the geography he lived, Hakkari. In the period he lived, Sayyid Taha attracted the attention of the Iranian administrators because of its charismatic personality and they even tried to form a close bond by sending him various gifts.
