O intelectual modernista como artista: Rubén Darío
Zanetti, Susana;
Tempo Social , 2007, DOI: 10.1590/S0103-20702007000100002
Abstract: this article reviews the intellectual career of rubén darío, profiling the artist's position in modernism (1880-1910), the first concrete movement among hispano-american writers, which substantially renewed the literary output in spanish. incorporated into the modern market as a journalist and immigrant, the article follows darío's intellectual life from the archaic cultural context of his native nicaragua to some of the foremost hispano-american (buenos aires) and european (madrid, paris) centres, and considers his demands for aesthetic autonomy and his constant affirmation of the poet's authority to intervene in discussions relating to modern society and culture. here we see the emergence of his commitment to the creation of a latin america founded on new ties of solidarity and union with spain, in the face of the threatening advance of the united states.
Women navigating on Internet. Weaving in the age of the Web Donne in viaggio nella Rete. Tessiture al tempo di Internet
Federica Zanetti
Ricerche di Pedagogia e Didattica , 2011,
Abstract: The space offered by Internet as a place for developing new possibilities of exchange, of participation and of revindication may appear to have been “conquered” or “stolen” by women seeking to make a break with the tenets that continuously reconfirm gender stereotypes and to deconstruct those erotic-pornographic images in which the body of the woman is increasingly instrumentalised. It is an attempt to present an alternative to the distorted vision of sexuality involving forms of violence and exploitation which are increasingly found in the social space in Internet. If on one hand we cannot ignore the tendency to re-propose and reconfirm stereotypes linked to gender, that reinforce a dominant male culture, on the other, Internet can be recognized as a multi-perspective space made up of representations and auto-representations expressing a wide variety of points of view, in which culture and gender identity are constructed and transformed: a tool of female empowerment. Internet is also made up of female voices which live and tell. Women who navigate write, learn, create and maintain relationships. In fact, it is these women “navigators”, weavers of the Web, who are experimenting with new forms of nomadism, of research, of respect for their own culture and their own identity.
Thomas Zanetti
In Situ : Revue de Patrimoines , 2011, DOI: 10.4000/insitu.206
This article is an analysis of a project of urban renewal concerning a space inherited from industrial and military activity: the arms factory of Saint-étienne. The history and the heritage characteristics of the site, in both its tangible and intangible dimensions, have been mobilized in a highly strategic urban project, the City of the Design, at the meeting point of many issues. This new design centre may be understood in a wider framework of metropolitan competition and the competition for the attractiveness of territories. Indeed, in a city marked by the traumatism stemming from the decline of the industry, the existence of a military heritage is seen as an opportunity to specify locally the implementation of the good urban practices in circulation in European cities. The persons in charge of the City thus chose a remarkable place of the local industrial and military history to welcome the future symbol of the local modernity, with the aim of benefittin
ZANETTI, Daniela
Contemporanea : Revista de Comunica??o e Cultura , 2009,
Abstract: The article brings analyses of some award-winning short films that compose a sample of what is called the film periphery, presenting some features of this audiovisual production, shown in various festivals, and also available in the Internet. The content is part of a larger study, which seeks to map these audiovisual products, examine them and understand their ways of representation and of discursive production. The film analysis with focus on narrative strategies was used as the basis for the study of these short films, aiming to identify the ways of approach of the subjects like violence and drug trafficking. As a result, the films present some characteristics in common, specially with regard to the construction of the characters and of the represented spaces (slums, suburbs), and to the “moral” of the stories, which do not bring a comforting end. It is also important to note that the short films analysed do not represent the totality of the cinema of the periphery (which is heterogeneous), but a part of this particular production,specially the one related to the context of Rio de Janeiro city.
