Abstract: In the title compound, C24H25N5O4, the stereogenic C atom bonded to three N atoms and one C atom has an S configuration and its directly bonded neighbour has an R configuration. An intramolecular N—H...O hydrogen bond supports the near coplanarity of the two C3N2-five-membered rings [dihedral angle = 5.64 (10)°]. In the crystal, molecules are linked by N—H...N hydrogen bonds, forming a C(8) chain propagating in [001]. The chains are connected by C—H...O interactions, generating a three-dimensional network. The previous study [Nagel et al. (1974). Chem. Commun. pp. 1021–1022] did not establish the absolute structure and no atomic coordinates were published or deposited.

Abstract: This In the past decade there has been an increasing need for designs to address the time and cost efficiency issues from various computer network applications such as general IP address lookup and specific network intrusion detection. Hashing techniques have been widely adopted for this purpose, among which XOR-operation-based hashing is one of most popular techniques due to its relatively small hash process delay. In most current commonly used XOR-hashing algorithms, each of the hash key bits is usually explicitly XORed only at most once in the hash process, which may limit the amount of potential randomness that can be introduced by the hashing process. In [1] a series of bit duplication techniques are proposed by systematically duplicating one row of key bits. This paper further looks into various ways in duplicating and reusing key bits to maximize randomness needed in the hashing process so as to enhance the overall performance further. Our simulation results show that, even with a slight increase in hardware requirement, a very significant reduction in the amount of hash collision can be obtained by the proposed technique.

Effect of ω-3 Fatty Acid on Gastrointestinal Motility after Abdominal Operation in Rats

Abstract: Objective. To investigate whether ω-3 fatty acid could stimulate gastrointestinal motility after abdominal operation. Method. Wistar rats were randomly divided into 3 group (normal saline group, intralipid group, and ω-3 fatty acid group, /group) after partial caecectomy and gastrostomosis, each group was divided into 3 groups (POD1, POD3, and POD6, /group). Serum gastrin (GAS), motilin (MTL), interleukin-1 (IL-1), interleukin-6 (IL-6), tissue necrosis factor-α (TNF-α), cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2), gastric emptying rate, and small bowel propulsion rate were measured. Results. On POD 3, gastric emptying rate and small bowel propulsion rate in ω-3 fatty acid group were higher than those in normal saline group and intralipid group. Serum GAS and MTL levels in ω-3 fatty acid group were higher than those in normal saline group, but serum IL-1, IL-6, TNF-α, and COX-2 levels were lower than those in normal saline group and intralipid group. Conclusion. ω-3 fatty acid could accelerate the recovery of gastrointestinal mobility after abdominal operation in rats, mainly by relieving postoperative inflammation. 1. Introduction Early postoperative gastrointestinal motility dysfunction is a frequent complication of laparotomy, especially after gastrointestinal operation. It may cause small bowel obstruction, serious infection, hepatic dysfunction, or reoperation with prolonged hospitalization and increased perioperative expenses. In patients with treatment, continuous parenteral nutrition or enteral feeding is necessary, but the outcomes of such approaches are variable. During parenteral nutrition or enteral nutrition, numerous hormones secreted by the gut influence gastrointestinal motor, and appear to contribute to the pathogenesis of gastrointestinal motility dysfunction [1]. It is well established that manipulation of the bowel induces the secretion of proinflammatory cytokines, including interleukin-1 (IL-1), interleukin-6 (IL-6), and tissue necrosis factor-α (TNF-α), and then to impaired muscle function [2]. And cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) is the key enzyme of prostaglandin synthesis in inflamed tissues. It can affect the motor activity of gastrointestinal tract in postoperative ileus, and COX-2 inhibitors could help to improve the outcome of this gut disorder [3, 4]. Supplementation of enteral nutritional formulas and parenteral nutrition lipid emulsions with ω-3 fatty acid could help reduce inflammation [5, 6], but the relationship of ω-3 fatty acid and gastrointestinal motility still remains unknown. HIF-1α Inhibition Reduces Nasal Inflammation in a Murine Allergic Rhinitis Model

Abstract: Background Hypoxia-inducible factor 1α (HIF-1α) is an important regulator of immune and inflammatory responses. We hypothesized that nasal allergic inflammation is attenuated by HIF-1α inhibition and strengthened by HIF-1α stabilization. Objective To elucidate the role of HIF-1α in a murine model of allergic rhinitis (AR). Methods Mice were pretreated with the HIF-1α inhibitor 2-methoxyestradiol (2ME2) or the HIF-1α inducer cobalt chloride (CoCl2) in an established AR murine model using ovalbumin (OVA)-sensitized BALB/c mice. HIF-1α and vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) expression in nasal mucosa was measured and multiple parameters of allergic responses were evaluated. Results HIF-1α and VEGF levels were locally up-regulated in nasal mucosa during AR. Inflammatory responses to OVA challenge, including nasal symptoms, inflammatory cell infiltration, eosinophil recruitment, up-regulation of T-helper type 2 cytokines in nasal lavage fluid, and serum OVA-specific IgE levels were present in the OVA-challenged mice. 2ME2 effectively inhibited HIF-1α and VEGF expression and attenuated the inflammatory responses. Stabilization of HIF-1α by CoCl2 facilitated nasal allergic inflammation. HIF-1α protein levels in nasal airways correlated with the severity of AR in mice. Conclusions HIF-1α is intimately involved in the pathogenesis of nasal allergies, and the inhibition of HIF-1α may be useful as a novel therapeutic approach for AR.
A review on studies of secondary metabolites from marine fungi

Abstract: Marine fungi are a kind of important source for active marine natural products. Up to now, 1,117 new compounds have been isolated and identified from the fermentation broth of marine fungi. In this paper, the history, status quo, methods and issues in studying secondary metabolites from marine fungi are presented. The compounds originated from marine fungi and their perspective in drug discovery were also discussed.

Abstract: The title ergosterol compound, C28H44O4·H2O, is composed of four fused rings (three six-membered and one five-membered) and a side chain. It is a derivative of ergosterol and was isolated from a marine-derived halotolerant fungus, Cladosporium cladosporioides PXP-49. In the crystal, molecules are assembled by classical O—H...O hydrogen bonds, forming a two-dimensional network, with base vectors [100] and [010]. The absolute configuration was assigned from the measured optical rotation and reference to the literature. An intramolecular O—H...O hydrogen bond occurs.
Research on High Availability of ForCES Control Element

Abstract: Forwarding and Control Element Separation (ForCES) is one of the hottest architectures in routing area of next generation Internet. From the views of future industrialization, availability and stability of the ForCES router should be paid more attention. As the core of the ForCES router, CE (Control Element)s availability largely determines the whole availability of the ForCES router. This study studies CE availability in detail. Firstly, this study designs and analyzes various schemes of CE high availability. Secondly, this study proposes an instantaneous availability model for the single master CE and the model is different from other models because of considering switching time. Finally, the study presents an analysis model of steady-state availability for the distributed multiple master CEs. The study uses empirical parameters and carries out simulation of these two models, respectively. Simulation results show some valuable rules and can be strong theoretical basis for implementation of CE availability: The single master CE system should choose a backup program based on the actual availability requests; increasing the meantime to failure and decreasing the meantime to detect can significantly improve the availability of multi-master CE system.
The Confucian Dimension in the East Asian Development Model

Abstract: The question of whether there is a unique East Asian model of development has intrigued not only economists and political scientists, but also sociologists, anthropologists, historians, philosophers, and religionists in North America. Indeed, interest in the question has extended beyond the confines of academic inquiry. Intriguingly, since the question was first raised, the scholars specializing in East Asian studies addressed the question primarily as a response to the demands outside their expertise. It is important to note that the role of culture featured prominently when the question was first raised. This paper leans towards a discussion of the post-Confucian hypothesis, the dynamics of the Confucian tradition, the East Asian form of life, ultimately arriving at an East Asian model developed by Ezra Vogel. The evocation of the Confucian dimension gives the intellectual discourse on the East Asian model a richer texture.
Treatment of non-small-cell lung cancer with chemotherapy and Sansheng Huatan Decoction

Abstract: Objective: To observe the clinical effect of Chinese medicine Sansheng Huatan Decoction combined with chemotherapy in treating advanced primary non-small-cell lung cancer and to evaluated the effect of Sansheng Huatan Decoction increasing clinical effect and decreasing toxicity in chemotherapy for non-small-cell lung cancer. Methods: One hundred and sixty patients of advanced primary non-small-cell lung cancer proved by pathological examination were randomized into two groups. The treatment group was treated with Sansheng Huatan Decoction and chemotherapy, and the control group was treated only with chemotherapy. The clinic effect, life quality, natural killer (NK) activities, liver and kidney functions, and blood routine test of the 2 groups were evaluated. Results: The clinical effective rates of the treatment and control groups were 56.7% and 48.2% respectively, and there was no statistic significance (P>0.10). The life quality, NK activities and blood routine test of the treatment group were better than those of the control group. Conclusion: Sansheng Huatan Decoction combined with chemotherapy is a better treatment for non small cell lung cancer as compared with chemotherapy.
