Research on Parallel Modern Optimization Algorithms Using GPU

Abstract: In order to deal with the relatively high timccomplexity of practical issuc,parallel modern optimization based on GPU was presented in this paper. Firstly, CUDA parallel programming architecture and programming model were summarized at a macroscopic level. Then the parallel processes of five typical modern optimization algorithms(Simulated Annealing, Tabu Search, Genetic Algorithms, Particle Swarm Optimization and Artificial Neural Network) using CUDA programming model were provided. Experimental statistics measured in different environment indicate that the parallel method can obtain better performance on average than CPU. Finally the parallel optimization strategy was discussed and the outlook of future direction of parallel optimization algorithm was also pointed out.

Abstract: Many studies on grain quality as affected by rice cultivation density have been conducted on one or two rice varieties, but there are few studies on varieties of hybrid midseason-rice. The hybrid midseason-rice grown in southern and eastern Sichuan Province has very low grain quality, especially the percentage of head milled rice, because of high temperatures and summer droughts. This paper explores the effects of low density cultivation on the percentage of head milled rice and source to sink ratios of varieties of hybrid midseason-rice, and it provides a theoretical and practical basis for improved cultivation. The experiment was conducted with eighteen mid-season rice hybrids grown at two densities, a low density cultivation and a traditional cultivation system, in a randomized block design with 4 replications using two hybrids (a big-panicle type hybrid `Gangyou 22' and a small-panicle type hybrid `II you 7') with 3 different treatments of grain or leaf cut. By using variance, correlation and regression analysis, the results indicated that the percentage of head milled rice increased in hybrids with small-medium panicles under low density cultivation but not for the hybrids with big-panicles. This was because of the significant decrease in the leaf to grain ratio and grain filling rate of hybrids for small-middle panicle under low density cultivation, as compared to the traditional cultivation system, resulting in an increase in the grain unit weight and percentage of head milled rice. The leaf to grain ratio and the grain filling rate of big panicle hybrids were low in traditional cultivation, and decreased significantly under low density cultivation, causing a decrease in the grain unit weight and percentage of head milled rice. These results were produced because of an imbalance in the leaf to grain ratios. Hybrids with less than 177 spikelets per panicle under cultivation using traditional densities can adapt to the low density cultivation in the eastern and southern regions of Sichuan Province.

Abstract: 以'II优7号'、'汕优63'和'香优2号'为材料,研究了超稀栽培与稻米整精米率和垩白粒率的关系及其作用原因,结果表明:栽秧密度与整精米率呈极显著负相关,与垩白粒率呈极显著正相关.在中高氮施肥水平条件下,当栽秧密度超稀到7.51万穴*hm-2时,在保证比传统高产栽培密度每公顷栽秧21.64万穴的对照不减产前提下,整精米率提高了15.69%~29.92%,垩白粒率降低了16.34%~21.22%.其原因在于,超稀植增加了每穗着粒数,降低了齐穗期的叶粒比,以致稻穗籽粒灌浆速率减慢而改善整精米率和垩白粒率.齐穗后20 d施氮可同时起到提高结实率和整精米率的双重效果.

Abstract: 为探讨钻井液及其组分的毒性效应,采用荧光技术研究了一种水基钻井液WBF及其7种主要组分(HXJ、PAC141、KPAM、PolyAL、XC、PolyA、Mud)对海洋微藻中肋骨条藻(Skeletonema costatum)的毒性作用,以未加入WBF或其组分的中肋骨条藻的叶绿素荧光强度为参照,计算得到钻井液及其组分对中肋骨条藻不同时间的EC50值. 结果表明:WBF的7种单组分中,PolyA对中肋骨条藻的96h EC50 = 2 × 103mg·L-1,为有毒组分,PolyAL的96h EC50 = 3 × 104mg·L-1,为低毒组分,其余5种组分无毒;WBF的有毒和低毒组分复配时其毒性与作用时间有关,PolyA与PolyAL在24h之内表现为协同作用,之后主要表现为拮抗作用;WBF的毒性主要取决于其有毒组分,而低毒和无毒组分对钻井液的毒性有协同增强作用.

Abstract: On the base of studying air attack target character recognition and cluster model, the paper build a critical character matrix based recognition and cluster improved model. It concludes that the result of fuzzy recognition and cluster is the same as the result of expert estimate through analyses of an example. It made the building of reference matrix simplify, matching the real time and accuracy demand of air defense combat, computing speed is fast.

Abstract: 针对现有基于D-S融合信息进行决策存在的问题,提出一种基于不确定融合证据的决策方法.该方法结合基元属性和非基元属性进行决策.首先给出了对候选决策集进行精简的原则,建立了焦元属性对目标决策属性的属性层面支持度以及证据层面支持度计算模型;然后对决策属性的决策向量、决策矩阵、理想状态向量进行定义,给出决策属性总体支持度的计算方法;最后对多源目标识别融合结果进行决策分析.结果证明了该方法的合理性与有效性,它同时具有对高冲突证据融合结果与低冲突证据融合结果的决策能力.

Abstract: Neural network method for solving generalized eigenvalue and eigenvector problems is studied in this paper and a continuous-time recurrent neural network model is presented. By using LaSalle's invariant principle, it is shown that the proposed network is globally quasi-convergent which guarantees an exact generalized eigenvector that can be found by the new model. Furthermore, this new model overcomes the following three defects in the existing neural network models based on penalty function method. 1) False solutions may be found by using penalty function method, sometimes, even unfeasible solutions could be found. 2) There is a parameter to be tuned in the process, but no definite rule available for the tuning. 3) No any stability result could be ensured for the existing models. The new model proposed here solves all these problems and, moreover, it has a good characteristic that it's trajectories can never escape from the feasible region, but will converge to the set of the generalized eigenvectors for any initial point in the feasible set. Finally, good performance of the proposed model for finding a generalized eigenvector is also demonstrated by numerical simulation results.
Transcriptome Analysis of the Oriental Fruit Fly (Bactrocera dorsalis)

Abstract: Background The oriental fruit fly, Bactrocera dorsalis (Hendel), is one of the most economically important pests in the world, causing serious damage to fruit production. However, lack of genetic information on this organism is an obstacle to understanding the mechanisms behind its development and its ability to resist insecticides. Analysis of the B. dorsalis transcriptome and its expression profile data is essential to extending the genetic information resources on this species, providing a shortcut that will support studies on B. dorsalis. Methodology/Principal Findings We performed de novo assembly of a transcriptome using short read sequencing technology (Illumina). The results generated 484,628 contigs, 70,640 scaffolds, and 49,804 unigenes. Of those unigenes, 27,455 (55.13%) matched known proteins in the NCBI database, as determined by BLAST search. Clusters of orthologous groups (COG), gene orthology (GO), and the Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes (KEGG) annotations were performed to better understand the functions of these unigenes. Genes related to insecticide resistance were analyzed in additional detail. Digital gene expression (DGE) libraries showed differences in gene expression profiles at different developmental stages (eggs, third-instar larvae, pupae, and adults). To confirm the DGE results, the expression profiles of six randomly selected genes were analyzed. Conclusion/Significance This transcriptome greatly improves our genetic understanding of B. dorsalis and makes a huge number of gene sequences available for further study, including both genes of known importance and genes of unknown function. The DGE data provide comprehensive insight into gene expression profiles at different developmental stages. This facilitates the study of the role of each gene in the developmental process and in insecticide resistance.
Theoretical and experimental study of the nonlinear ultrasonic field radiated from a conical focused PVDF transducer

Abstract: Conical transducer offers both good lateral resolution and large depth of detecting region for ultrasonic imaging. In this paper, the superposition of Gaussian beams is utilized to simulate the source distribution of the conical focused transducer. On the basis of the KZK equation, we obtain the analytical solution of the nonlinear sound field from the conical focused source. A conical focused PVDF transducer has been fabricated in our Lab and the sound field distributions of the fundamental and second harmonic components were experimentally measured. The measured results are in reasonably good agreement with the theoretical predictions.
