Systematic review and meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials of integrative medicine therapy for treatment of chronic severe hepatitis

Abstract: BACKGROUND: Chronic severe hepatitis is a critical disease with high mortality. Currently, effective drugs and therapy still lack. Comprehensive and supportive treatment, artificial liver and liver transplantation are the main therapies. A great number of studies on traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) in many ways combined with Western medicine treatment for chronic severe hepatitis have been reported, but the efficacy and safety still lack systematic evaluation.OBJECTIVE: To evaluate the efficacy and safety of integrative medicine therapy for chronic severe hepatitis.SEARCH STRATEGY: Literature was searched from PubMed, the Cochrane Library, the China National Knowledge Infrastructure Database, the Chongqing VIP Chinese Science and Technology Periodical Database, the Chinese Biomedical Literature Database and Wanfang Database. The time limitation ran from the commencement of each database to February 29, 2012.INCLUSION CRITERIA: Randomized controlled trials (RCTs) testing Chinese herbal medicine (CHM) combined with Western medicine (comprehensive and supportive treatment or artificial liver plasma exchange) against Western medicine were included.DATA EXTRACTION AND ANALYSIS: Two authors collected and extracted data independently. The methodological quality of literature was assessed by risk of bias table from Cochrane Collaboration and the data were analyzed by RevMan 5.1 software. Heterogeneity of the included studies was checked by Chi-square test. The efficacy measure was relative risk (RR) or mean difference with a 95% confidence interval (CI).RESULTS: A total of 45 RCTs involving 4 449 patients with chronic severe hepatitis were included. Quality of all included trials was low. The oral CHM, enema and combined TCM with either Western medicine or plasma exchange were superior to Western medicine alone in improving total effective rate and reducing mortality with significant differences. In laboratory parameters, the integrative medicine treatment group was better than Western control group in reducing the total bilirubin and alanine aminotransferase, but two groups showed equal efficacy in lowering aspartate aminotransferase activity. The oral Chinese medicine combined with Western medicine or plasma exchange was better than Western medicine used alone in improving albumin synthesis and coagulation function, but Chinese medicine enema had no significant effect on the level of plasma albumin. Abstract: This article studies the unbalanced and heterogeneous variances one-way layout analysis of variance (ANOVA) model by the generalized p-value method.The generalized pivotal model is drawn by Fiducial inference, by which the generalized p-value is defined directly. Then the hypotheses test problem is solved and this test is proved to be valid at the boundary. The method of this article can also be used in other models with several parameters. As an example, the ANOVA model with covariant variables is considered. The generalized p-value of this model is given,and then the critical region is proposed. In simulation studies, the method of this article and Weerahandi's are compared.The results show that the generalized p-value given in this article is reasonable.

Abstract: A scheme for obtaining high gain-length product(GL) of recombination X-ray laser is proposed and theoretically studied, in which a thin fiber with a density less than the critical one is driven by a short pulse laser. The features of laser-produced plasma and the gain coefficients of the transition from n = 3 to n = 2 of the H-like ions for a solid fiber and a low-density cylindrical target of carbon are shown. The Sobolev escape probability in a self-similarly expanding cylindrical geometry is used to evaluate the trapping effect on the gain coefficient. According to the simulations there are three obvious advantages of the low-density target, ie., wider gain region, longer lasing duration and no drift of the gain region. In addition, only a few joules are needed for getting saturated GL value.

Abstract: 并流共沉淀法制备了CuO/ZnO/Al2O3催化剂前驱体及催化剂,用XRD、TG-DTG、TPR、N2吸附及加压微反活性评价技术.考察了母料老化时间对催化剂前驱体物相组成及焙烧后物料中CuO—ZnO间的作用和物化性能的影响,提出了催化剂母料物相随老化时间的变化。研究表明,老化时间对催化剂活性的影响是通过改变催化剂比表面积及形成CuO-ZnO固溶体的结果。
A Metal-Based Inhibitor of NEDD8-Activating Enzyme

Abstract: A cyclometallated rhodium(III) complex [Rh(ppy)2(dppz)]+ (1) (where ppy = 2-phenylpyridine and dppz = dipyrido[3,2-a:2′,3′-c]phenazine dipyridophenazine) has been prepared and identified as an inhibitor of NEDD8-activating enzyme (NAE). The complex inhibited NAE activity in cell-free and cell-based assays, and suppressed the CRL-regulated substrate degradation and NF-κB activation in human cancer cells with potency comparable to known NAE inhibitor MLN4924. Molecular modeling analysis suggested that the overall binding mode of 1 within the binding pocket of the APPBP1/UBA3 heterodimer resembled that for MLN4924. Complex 1 is the first metal complex reported to suppress the NEDDylation pathway via inhibition of the NEDD8-activating enzyme.
Cloning and Expression of Trignoposis variabilis D-amino Acid Oxidase in Escherichia coli

Abstract: 从三角酵母中提取总RNA ,反转录后进行PCR扩增得到D 氨基酸氧化酶 (D AminoAcidOxidase ,DAAO)基因 ,经测序可知 ,与文献中三角酵母的DAAO基因序列的同源性在 99%以上。将DAAO基因用NcoⅠ和BamHⅠ双酶切后 ,与相同酶切的大肠杆菌表达载体pET 2 8a连接 ,转化大肠杆菌TOP 1 0F′,并筛选得到重组质粒pET DAAO ,转化BL2 1 (DE3)感受态细胞 ,得到重组大肠杆菌BL2 1 (DE3) pET DAAO。对重组大肠杆菌中的D 氨基酸氧化酶进行了诱导表达 ,考察了诱导温度、菌浓度、诱导剂IPTG用量以及溶氧等因素对酶活的影响。结果表明 ,在 2 8℃、菌浓度 (OD6 0 0 ) 1 0、IPTG浓度 1mmol L时 ,DAAO酶活最高达 2 3 3U mL。研究进一步显示 ,用廉价无毒的乳糖可以替代IPTG进行诱导 ,当乳糖浓度为 2mmol L ,DAAO酶活可达 2 2 7U mL。经过补料分批培养和乳糖诱导 ,DAAO酶活可以达到 1 75U mL。
Preparation and Specific Molecular Recognition Properties of Human Hemoglobin Imprinted Polymers

Abstract: Using acrylamide and methylacrylic acid as functional monomers, human hemoglobin molecular-imprinting-polymers (HHb-MIPs) were successfully prepared. The studies showed that the specific molecular recognition properties of HHb-MIPs were related to both the interactions between the functional groups of polymers and imprinted protein, and geometric complementation of the cavities in the polymers. Further studies showed that the content of methyacrylic acid in the polymers could affect the specific binding properties of MIPs. The supplementation of methylacrylic acid can increase the specific adsorption capacity of the HHb-MIPs on the one hand, but decrease the elution capacity on the other hand.

A Spatiotemporal Multiple Moving Objects Segmentation and Tracking with Level Set

Abstract: Aimed at the moving objects segmentation problem with a moving background,a method of segmentation and tracking of moving objects was proposed. Firstly,this method built up a spatio-temporal energy function based on the optical flow and the motion model of background.Then,the segmentation,tracking and estimation of the motion of background were processed using the energy function.Minimization of the energy function led to the optimal segmentation of moving objects in spatio-temporal domain by curve evolution.The level sets PDEs(Partial Differential Equations) approach was used for the evolvement of the curves in spatio-temporal domain.This algorithm and its numerical implementation were verified on real image sequences.Experimental results show that the method allows the segmentation and tracking of multiple motion with estimating simultaneously the motion of background.
Kinetic Analysis of Laccase Catalyze Phenolic and Aniline Compounds and Detecting Catechol in Wastewater

Abstract: Phenolic or aniline compounds were important pollutants in the industrial wastewaters to seriously polluted water environment. This research developed a detecting method of phenolic and aniline compounds based on the kinetic parameters of the substrates of laccase. Catalytic reaction between laccase and phenolic and aniline compounds was characterized using spectrophotometic method, which resulted 0-10 mg/L substrate reaction rate and calibration curve of substrate concentration and reaction rate. And then the non-volatile phenols in three kinds of coking wastewater were screened and the contents were detected. The result showed that polyhydric phenol, multi-amine and aminophenol were the main substrates of laccase. The optimum pH of phenols was around 7.0 and anilines 4.5-5.0, Km values of each substrates was 0.4-10 mmol/L. The calibration curve performed good first order kinetics linear relationship except benzidine with correlation coefficients above 0.96.Using laccase method, the contents of catechol in three kinds of coking wastewater were respectively detected to be 190.5, 265.8 and 155.3 mg/L with recoveries ranged from 89.9% to 115.8%.
