A Survey of Diagnosis and Treatment of Pet Canine Parvovirus Disease in China

Abstract: The aim of the survey was to investigate epidemiology, diagnosis and therapy situations of pet Canine Parvovirus (CPV) disease in China and to provide data for further anti-CPV drug development. Questionnaire survey was carried out in 30 veterinary clinics in Beijing, Xi an, Zhengzhou, Tianjin and Hanzhong in December, 2009. The proportions of CPV dogs in all clinic treated dogs were 15.64, 19.37 and 20.51% in 2007, 2008 and 2009, respectively with an increasing tendency. About 32.00% CPV positive dogs were vaccinated. Most of the unvaccinated dogs were puppies. Imported vaccine produces were used in 93.33% clinics and homegrown vaccines in 33.33% clinics (some clinics used both vaccines included). The CPV antigen test kits made in Korea were used in 96.67% clinics. As for the treatment, the average duration was 5.5 days and 90.00% clinics used CPV Monoclonal Antibody (McAb) while 42.70% of the total payment was expended in CPV McAb. The CPV McAbs were usually combined used with other drugs in treatment. Therefore, it was hard to evaluate the McAb drug effect. The McAb products are the main sources for CPV diagnosis and treatment. Information of CPV treatment is inadequate in China therefore, more surveys, technologies and produces should be developed in CPV diagnosis and therapy.
Breeding Ecology of Passerine Birds in Alpine Meadows of Northern Qinghai

Abstract: The reproductive ecology of birds is important in the study of life history evolution centers. We briefly review progress in the reproductive ecology of alpine meadow passerines on the Qinghai-Tibetan plateau, to which we add the published results of our recent study. The current studies includes nest architecture, nest-site selection, the evolution of clutch size, nestling growth, parental care, breeding productivity, and breeding strategy etc. Based on these observations, we hypothesised that (1) the length of the breeding season, food resources and predation are critical for the evolution of passerine reproductive patterns in alpine meadows; (2) that alpine meadow passerines used single-investment and accumulative-investment strategies; (3) that the typical clutch size was actually the most efficient for reproductive purposes; (4) and that the transition from neonate to fledgling passerines is a relatively fixed process as compensatory growth does not appear to occur; (5) and that growth period is volatile. In future studies we propose: (1) to study the evolution and stability of parent-offspring communications, and to determine if the parent-offspring communication is the result of evolutionary trade-offs between visual and vocal signals; (2) to establish a life history table under the gradient of nest habitat; (3) to determine the ecological field under the gradient of nest habitat (from open to closed). Finally, we will try to obtain the transformation table of parent-offspring communication under the gradient of nest habitat and test the trade-offs between visual and vocal signals. Those results will provide more information on diversity, adaptive strategies and of life history of alpine meadow avians, and predict reproduction and life history of birds in response to global changes.
Development and application of a specific SCAR marker for detection of a released Metarhizium acridum strain M189 in the field

Abstract: To monitor the effect of a Metarhizium acridum strain spread in the field, a DNA molecular marker to differentiate a released strain from other strains or native isolates was developed. Sixteen arbitrary primers to amplify the genomic DNA of 51 Metarhizium strains were used and 81 polymorphic sites were obtained. Among them, 30 polymorphic bands were obtained from the strain M189. One band ascertained to be specificity to the strain M189 was sequenced and transformed as a specific SCAR (sequence characterized amplified regions) marker for this strain. The marker sensitivity was tested and confirmed by identifying strain M189 from 51examined strains. The SCAR marker was used to distinguish 3 isolates from the soil samples collected from the field and confirmed one of them being the released strain M189.

Abstract: An impact experiment for spacecraft structure is reported, where the impact happens between a cylindrical projectile and a single bumper shield, and the impact velocity is within the first threshold velocity range. Results of the experiment are analyzed. Information on damage characteristics and failure mode is obtained.

Abstract: 从空间场效应的角度采用因子分析法,利用1999-2003年中国国内旅游抽样调查资料,分析国内旅游流的产生、分配、集聚、扩散的基本特征以及旅游流空间网络的相关性。结果表明:(1)经济是旅游流产生的主要驱动力,旅游资源是旅游流空间分配的主要驱动力; 目前国内已形成4大旅游流产生地和5大旅游流集聚地;(2)旅游集聚场与扩散场的等级结构受市场原则作用,表现为K=3序列的空间模式;(3)旅游集聚场地域结构呈"U"型特征,而旅游扩散场呈"三级阶梯"状格局;(4)β、γ指数揭示旅游流空间网络相关性较差。今后加快长江、黄河流域旅游带以及南部沿海、北部沿海和东北旅游区等"二带三区"的旅游网络化建设,是我国推进区域旅游合作的主要方向和重点区域,是实现旅游流空间流向合理调整与流量结构优化的关键。
Driving factors of resident satisfaction with tourism development: A case study of Yangshuo in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region

Abstract: While the research of resident satisfaction has been developed in many fields such as transportation, banking, community sanitation and real estate, the systemic and comprehensive exploration of resident satisfaction with tourism development has rarely been conducted. Residents are one of the key stakeholders in tourism development; understanding driving mechanism of resident satisfaction is favorable to provide an alternative means in achieving the goal of residents' active support for tourism development. Using structural equation modeling (SEM) approach, this paper built the proposed model of resident satisfaction with tourism development (RSTD), aiming at identifying the key driving factors (resident expectations, resident community attachment, personal benefit from tourism development and benefit distribution, perceived positive tourism impacts, perceived negative tourism impacts) to generate resident satisfaction. To test the proposed model of RSTD, an empirical survey was performed in the famous landscape city in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region-Yangshuo, by the stratified sample method. A total of 539 valid questionnaires were obtained. Employing LISREL 8.70, the results indicated that: (1) The proposed model of RSTD fitted well with the data collected; 8 out of 9 of the path coefficients between the constructs were proved to be statistically significant at p < 0.05. (2) Resident expectations, resident community attachment, personal benefit from tourism development and benefit distribution, perceived positive tourism impacts, perceived negative tourism impacts were proved to be five key antecedents of resident satisfaction. (3) Resident community attachment, personal benefit from tourism development and benefit distribution, perceived positive tourism impacts were positively related with resident satisfaction, while resident expectations and perceived negative tourism impacts had negative effects on resident satisfaction. (4) Perceived positive tourism impacts exhibited the strongest direct effect on resident satisfaction among the five antecedent constructs, whereas benefit from tourism development and benefit distribution had strongest total effects on resident satisfaction. Finally, limitations and suggestions for future work were also drawn.

Abstract: 采用溶胶-凝胶方法在玻璃基底上制备了TiO_2纳米薄膜.X射线衍射分析表明薄膜为锐钛矿结构.通过椭偏仪测试,薄膜的总厚度为216.4nm,折射率为2.536.黑体实验表明,TiO_2薄膜在800nm~1200nm波长区域内对红外线的吸收较好,且吸收率随着温度的升高而变大.红外光谱表明,TiO_2薄膜在2400cm~(-1)~4000cm~(-1)波数范围内对红外线的吸收效果较好.

Abstract: The liquid fermentation kinetics of Metarhizium anisopliae IMI330189 was observed. Kinetic models of biomass growth and substrate consumption were established based on Sigmoid model and the parameters of the models were determined by Origin7.5 software. The results showed that the models fitted well with the liquid fermentation process of M. anisopliae IMI330189. The maximum specific growth rate was found to be 0.084h-1 at 22.8h, specific total sugar consumption rate 0.246h-1 at 9.6h and specific total nitrogen consumption rate 0.007h-1 at 10.3h. The maximum yield coefficient of biomass from total sugar was 0.861g/g at 39.8h. The model simulation matched well with the experimental observations, which made it possible to elucidate the kinetic characteristics of M. anisopliae IMI330189 during liquid fermentation. These models thus can be employed for the development and optimization of M. anisopliae IMI330189 liquid fermentation processes.
