Psychological Characteristics of Entrepreneurship of College Students in China  [PDF]

The study investigated the psychological characteristics of entrepreneurship of 829 college students in Chinaby questionnaire. The psychological characteristics include five aspects: entrepreneurial capacity, entrepreneurial belief, entrepreneurial consciousness, entrepreneurial motivation, and entrepreneurial determination. In the five factors, the entrepreneurial consciousness of college students is the highest, and the other four are almost at the same level. There is significant difference on entrepreneurial belief, consciousness, and motivation in different gender of students. Also there is significant difference on entrepreneurial consciousness in different major students and on entrepreneurial motivation in different degree students. However, the college students only with high entrepreneurial consciousness are not enough to succeed in business. The other four psychological characteristics are not only essential to entrepreneurship, but also necessary to their future professional development. College students should have a lot of preparation and accumulation on the other four psychological characteristics of entrepreneurship, and give much more effort to improve them.

Nonparametric Demand Forecasting with Right Censored Observations  [PDF]

Abstract: In a newsvendor inventory system, demand observations often get right censored when there are lost sales and no backordering. Demands for newsvendor-type products are often forecasted from censored observations. The Kap-lan-Meier product limit estimator is the well-known nonparametric method to deal with censored data, but it is unde-fined beyond the largest observation if it is censored. To address this shortfall, some completion methods are suggested in the literature. In this paper, we propose two hypotheses to investigate estimation bias of the product limit estimator, and provide three modified completion methods based on the proposed hypotheses. The proposed hypotheses are veri-fied and the proposed completion methods are compared with current nonparametric completion methods by simulation studies. Simulation results show that biases of the proposed completion methods are significantly smaller than that of those in the literature.
On the Mechanical Analysis and Control for the Tension System of the Cylindrical Filament Winding  [PDF]

Abstract: The constant winding tension can make the filament arranged in order. The stress distribution between the filament balance fully gives play to the enhancement of filament, and increases the intensive workload of the composite winding material. This paper conducts the mechanical analysis for the unwinding roller and tension measuring roller of the cylindrical winding machine so that gets the mechanical model, gives error compensation formula caused by the radius change of the yarn group in the unwinding side, designs the closed-loop control system and utilizes the dynamical- integral PID control strategy to achieve the tension control during the process of the cylindrical winding.
The Research on Neutral Grounding Scheme of Fengxian 35kV and 10 kV Power Grid  [PDF]

Combined with actual situation of Fengxian power Supply Company, the neutral grounding modes of Fengxian 35 kV and 10 kV power grid are studied in the paper. The different frequencies injected method is used to measure the capacitive current of Fengxian 28 substations, and the neutral grounding modes of the 28 substations are determined based on the measured values of capacitive current.

A Simple Algorithm to Strengthen the Brightness of Color Images

Abstract: This paper puts forward a simple algorithm to make color images lighter based on Wavelet transformation and histogram smoothing. This algorithm uses HIS space which is based on human visual features. Without changing hue, it can conduct histogram smoothing in low brightness frequency domain through wavelet decomposition and make the images lighter, which at the same time avoids vagueness of details and increase of noises. According to experiment results, this algorithm can make low brightness color images lighter effectively with low time complexity.

Global well-posedness and scattering for the fourth order nonlinear Schr?dinger equations with small data

Abstract: For $n\geq 3$, we study the Cauchy problem for the fourth order nonlinear Schr\"{o}dinger equations, for which the existence of the scattering operators and the global well-posedness of solutions with small data in Besov spaces $B^{s}_{2,1}(\R^n)$ are obtained. In one spatial dimension, we get the global well-posedness result with small data in the critical homogeneous Besov spaces $\dot{B}^{s}_{2,1}$. As a by-product, the existence of the scattering operators with small data is also obtained. In order to show these results, the global version of the estimates for the maximal functions and the local smoothing effects on the fourth order Schr\"{o}dinger semi-groups are established.

Abstract: Considering the Cauchy problem for the modified Korteweg-de Vries-Burgers equation $u_t+u_{xxx}+\epsilon |\partial_x|^{2\alpha}u=2(u^{3})_x, u(0)=\phi$, where $0<\epsilon,\alpha\leq 1$ and $u$ is a real-valued function, we show that it is uniformly globally well-posed in $H^s (s\geq1)$ for all $\epsilon \in (0,1]$. Moreover, we prove that for any $s\geq 1$ and $T>0$, its solution converges in $C([0,T]; H^s)$ to that of the MKdV equation if $\epsilon$ tends to 0.
Global Well-posedness for the fourth order nonlinear Schr?dinger equations with small rough data in high demension

Abstract: For $n\geq 2$, we establish the smooth effects for the solutions of the linear fourth order Shr\"{o}dinger equation in anisotropic Lebesgue spaces with $\Box_k$-decomposition. Using these estimates, we study the Cauchy problem for the fourth order nonlinear Schr\"{o}dinger equations with three order derivatives and obtain the global well posedness for this problem with small data in modulation space $M^{9/2}_{2,1}({\Real^{n}})$.
Improved Detection of Cervical Cancer and High Grade Neoplastic Lesions by a Combination of Conventional Cytology and DNA Automated Image Cytometer  [PDF]

Abstract: OBJECTIVE: To reduce false-negative rates of population based cervical screening programs employing conventional cytology in combination with automated DNA image cytometer. METHODS: Involved cervical samples from a total of 3603 women were taken by a cervix brush and then placed into a fixative solution. The cells were separated from mucus by mechanical and chemical treatment after which they were deposited onto microscope slides by a cytospin. Two slides were prepared from each case; one slide was stained by Papanicolaou stain for conventional cytology examination, while the other slide was stained by a DNA specific and stoichiometric stain. The latter slide was used to determine the relative amount of DNA in the cell nuclei in order to assess the ploidy status of the epithelial cells. Enrolled in the study, 157 women were followed by colposcopy examination where punch biopsies were taken from the visible lesions or from suspicious areas. The results of the conventional cytology were then compared to the DNA image cytometer for all samples. RESULTS: Histopathology diagnosed 51 lesions from the 132 biopsied cases as CIN2 or higher, including 27 CIN2, 16 CIN3 and 8 invasive cancers. Conventional cytology correctly identified 29 of the 51 high grade CIN and in-vasive cancer, while DNA image cytometer correctly identified 38 high grade CIN and invasive cancer using the crite-rion that at least three cells were found on the slide that contained DNA amount in excess of 5c. 42 out of 51 high grade CIN and invasive cancer were found by conventional cytology in combination with DNA image cytometer. Sensitivities were 56.8%, 74.5% and 82.4%, while specificities were 86.2%, 81.5% and 81.5% in conventional cytology, DNA image cytometer and combination both cytology and DNA image cytometer respectively. CONCLUSION: The study demon-strated that screening for high grade neoplastic lesions and cervical cancer by DNA image cytometer or combination of conventional cytology and DNA image cytometer is more sensitive than conventional screening approach.
