Capacitive Properties of Mesoporous Mn-Co Oxide Derived from a Mixed Oxalate  [PDF]

Abstract: A mesoporous Mn-Co oxide for supercapacitors was derived from a mixed oxalate Mn0.8Co0.2C2O4·nH2O, which was synthesized by a solid-state coordination reaction at room temperature. The synthesized mixed Mn-Co oxalate was decomposed in air at 250°C, resulting in a tetragonal spinel Mn-Co oxide with a primary particle size less than 100 nm. The obtained Mn-Co oxide presents a mesoporous texture with a specific surface area of 120 m2·g﹣1. Electrochemical properties of the Mn-Co oxide electrode were investigated by cyclic voltammetry and galvanostatic charge/discharge in 6 mol·L﹣1 KOH electrolyte. The Mn-Co oxide electrode delivered specific capacitances of 383 and 225 F·g﹣1 at scan rates of 2 and 50 mV·s﹣1, respectively. Subjected to 500 cycles at a current density of 1.34 A·g﹣1, the symmetrical Mn-Co oxide capacitor showed specific capacitance of 179 F·g﹣1, still retaining ~85% of its initial capacitance. The obtained Mn-Co oxide material showed good capacitive performance, which was promising for supercapacitor applications.
Identification of active components in Asterias rollestoni Bell. by HPLC- ESI-MS and Study on Their HPLC Fingerprint

Abstract: Objective: A new method based on high performance liquid chromatography- electrospray ionization mass spectrometry (HPLC-ESI-MS) was developed for the rapid identification of active compounds in Asterias rollestoni Bell and development of its fingerprints. Method: Samples were extracted by ultrasonic-assist extraction, and the extraction conditions were optimized. The developed HPLC -ESI -MS method was used to identification of the components in Asterias rollestoni Bell extract, and a chromatographic fingerprint based on HPLC analysis was established. Result: Eleven compounds in Asterias rollestoni Bell extract could be primary identified by ESI-MS on-line detection combined with literature review. The result of similarity evaluation for fingerprint indicated that the quality of different Asterias rollestoni Bell samples were not entirely consistent. Conclusion: This method has the advantages of simple operation, rapid measurement and it is a powerful tool for identification of active components in Asterias rollestoni Bell and its quality control.
Simultaneous determination of 7 nucleosides in Asterias rollestoni using reversed-phase high performance liquid chromatography

Abstract: A method for the simultaneous determination of 7 nucleosides in Asterias rollestoni was developed using reversed-phase high performance liquid chromatography (RP-HPLC). Analytes were extracted by ultrasonic-assisted extraction and separated on two different C18 columns, which were connected in series, under the gradient elution with the mobile phases of methanol and 0.2% (v/v) acetic acid/water at room temperature. The chromatographic conditions were as follows: flow rate, 0.8 mL/min; detection wavelength, 260 nm; injection volume, 20 μL. Under the optimized conditions, good linear relationships between the values of mass concentrations and the peak areas of hypoxanthine, uridine, xanthine, thymine, inosine, guanosine and thymidine were observed in the ranges of 0.65-40, 0.80-40, 0.80-40, 1.15-40, 0.80-40, 0.50-40, and 0.65-40 mg/L, respectively. The relative standard deviations were around 0.72%-3.23% and the recoveries were around 90.00%-105.00%. The results showed that the developed method is sensitive, accurate and reproducible. It is suitable for the analysis of nucleosides in Asterias rollestoni with high recoveries and it is expected to be used for the quality control and evaluation of Asterias rollestoni.

Abstract: Experimental investigations are carried out to study the effect of a non uniform electric field on the boiling heat transfer. The study has found that the heat transfer coefficient increases as the electric field strength increases. Enhanced coefficient decreases with heat flux increases and finally reaches a steady value. When the heat flux is small, high voltage has a better enhancement effect. The Onset of Nucleate Boiling (ONB) undergoes a larger increase by applying a high voltage.

Abstract: In research [1], the authors investigate the dynamic behaviors of a discrete ecological system. The period-double bifurcations and chaos are found in the system. But no strategy is proposed to control the chaos. It is well known that chaos control is the first step of utilizing chaos. In this paper, a controller is designed to stabilize the chaotic orbits and enable them to be an ideal target one. In this analysis, the single crystal of schiff base has been synthesized and the purity of material has been increased by repeated recrystallization process. Single crystal was grown by adopting the method growing in a slow evaporation solution using ethanol as solvent at room temperature. A new fluorescent molecule based on Schiff base has been synthesised and its binding properties investigated by fluorescence spectroscopy to show that it can selectively bind Cu2+ with fluorescence quenching.

Mathematical Reasoning of Economic Intervening Principle Based on “Yin Yang Wu Xing” Theory in Traditional Chinese Economics (I)  [PDF]

By using mathematical reasoning, this paper demonstrates the economic intervening principle: “Virtual disease is to fill his mother but real disease is to rush down his son” and “ Strong inhibition of the same time, support the weak” based on “Yin Yang Wu Xing” Theory in Traditional Chinese Economics (TCE). We defined generalized relations and generalized reasoning, introduced the concept of steady multilateral systems with two non-compatibility relations, and discussed its energy properties. Later based on the intervening principle of TCE and treated the economic society as a steady multilateral system, it has been proved that the intervening principle above is true. The kernel of this paper is the existence and reasoning of the non-compatibility relations in steady multilateral systems, and it accords with the oriental thinking model.

Influence Factor Analysis on Strength of Lime-Fly Ash Loess  [PDF]

Abstract: Lime-fly ash loess is composed of fly ash, lime and loess. It is a new material in subgrade backfill. Main factors to influence the strength of lime-fly ash loess are age, amount of fly ash and lime, ratio of fly ash to lime (1:K), and moisture content. In order to observe the effect of each factor influencing the strength of lime-fly ash loess and find out the relationship between each other, this paper adopted orthogonal test design to conduct unconfined compression tests. The result shows that 90d strength can be considered to calculate the strength of lime-fly ash loess in practice. And the most important factor to influence the 90d strength of lime-fly ash loess is the amount of fly ash and lime, the second is moisture content, and then is the ratio of fly ash to lime (1:K). These achievements are significant to the design and application of lime-fly ash loess in subgrade construction of loess areas.
