Turkish Studies , 2012,
Abstract: In this study which we tried to answer the question which feelings and the objectives drive the critic poet to criticize rather than what was criticized or why they were criticized. While we are trying to show the criticism in our Classical Ottoman Poetry as a part of the life, we are going to emphasize the personal reasons of the criticism. We need to know that the people whose being described as an “Intellectual” is not wrong cannot stay away from criticizing the defects. For this reason, everything could be the subject of the criticism. While beard, moustache or the hypocrisy of a person sometimes became the subject of criticism, sometimes an administrator’s deficiences and flaws became the subject of criticism. Sometimes, even the minor social degenerations which the masses of people could not realize when they were alive were expressed. That is why the criticism, as we think, was not a remote subject for the Classical Ottoman poets, on the contrary, the criticism was closely related to their lives. Nelerin, ni in ele tirildi inden ziyade, ele tirici airi, hangi duygular ve hangi ama lar ele tiriye sevk eder sorusuna cevap aranan bu al mada, Klasik iirde ele tirinin hayat n bir par as oldu unu, g stermeye al rken daha ok ele tirinin ki isel nedenleri üzerinde durulacakt r. “Ayd n” diye nitelendirilmelerinin yanl olmayaca Klasik airlerin, aksakl klara g zlerini kapayamayacaklar n n bilinmesi gerekir. This process is not only within the axisof an individual. The subjects like degenerated values, human relations, insensitivity, egocentric lives, alienation, making the other, degeneration of the stateand the high officials are not excluded from the criticism.

Turkish Studies , 2009,
Abstract: To say that Classical Ottoman Poetry consists ofonly aesthetics and pleausure and different meaningmaps cannot be derived in this poetry means someone donot understand the Classical Ottoman Poetry thoroughly. When the vers forms by which Classical Ottoman Poetrywere written are examined carefully it will be seen thatsubjects like inequity and injustice could be treated inthe qasida verse form which strikes as eulogy. Besides, with the ghazel verse form in which generally the love of feeling was expressed in a lyric way, subjects like makingmarginal and injustice were treated, too. It is a sign ofverse forms of the Classical Otoman Poetry are beyondthe settled and the classic understanding.

Balkan Medical Journal , 2011,
Abstract: Neuromyelitis optica or Devic’s syndrome is a rare autoimmune disorder which is characterized by inflammatory demyelination of the optic nerves and the spinal cord. Clinically, it causes visual loss in one or both eyes, and numbness or paralysis of the arms and legs. Although tonic spasm is the most frequent movement disorder occuring in MS, it has not been definetely described clinical entity for Devic’s syndrome. We hereby describe a case of Devic’s syndrome with tonic spasms treated with levetiracetam as a new approach and discussed the results of the treatment. A 52-year-old woman with Devic’s syndrome with the complaint of painful tonic spasms primarily affecting the abdomen was given levetiracetam therapy. Levetiracetam therapy resulted in a good response in our patient. Levetiracetam can be a new choice for the treatment of painful tonic spasm with Devic’s syndrome. However, more detailed studies are necessary to investigate efficacy of levetiracetam.

N?ropsikiyatri Ar?ivi , 2009,
Abstract: Objective: Some biological researches on aggressive behaviors suggest that cortical excitability and inhibition imbalance cause behavioral problems like reactive aggression, impulsivity and inability to behavioral control. The purpose of the study is to evaluate whether cortical excitability-inhibition imbalance is responsible for aggressive behaviors in adult young men with antisocial personality disorder in which aggressive behavior is one of the key features. Method: We studied 42 subjects with antisocial personality disorder and 44 healthy controls matched for age and education level. The electrophysiology of cortical inhibition and excitability was measured with transcranial magnetic stimulation. SCID-I, SCID-II, Aggression Questionnaire, and Edinburg Handedness Inventory were performed to all subjects. Results: Motor threshold, cortical latency, and central motor conduction time, which are related with cortical excitability, have been found statistically significant lower on antisocial personality disorder group compared with healthy controls. There was no difference between two groups on cortical silent period which reflects cortical inhibitory mechanisms. Conclusion: The results indicate an increase in cortical motor excitability on antisocial personality disorder, and we suggest that the cortical imbalance might render the person prone to behavior problems. N?ropsikiyatri Ar?ivi , 2012,
Abstract: Objective: In this study, a group of violent male adolescents aged 12-15 years old, who were students of a primary school located in a district where families with low socioeconomic status (SES) live was compared with a non-violent peer group in terms of self and family variables, in an aim to understand the risk factors related to adolescent violent behavior. Methods: Data were gathered about the family relations, presence of domestic violence, and other enviromental risk factors for a group of adolescents who show violent behavior at school (n: 22) and compared to their non-violent peers (n: 19) from the same school by getting information both from the adolescents themselves and their mothers. The Self-Perception Profile for Adolescents,Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale , Children’s Depression Inventory and the Connors’ Rating Scales were used to measure the relevant variables. Family characteristics were investigated by direct interviews with the mothers and by using the General Health Questionnaire and the Family Assessment Device for both mothers and fathers. Results: The results of this study showed that adolescents who were violent at school were similar to non-violent ones in terms of domestic violence and self-perception and self-esteem. The violent group perceived themselves as being worse in terms of academic performance and showed higher levels of attention deficit hyperactivity symptoms. Conclusion: The results suggest that the violent behaviour at school for some adolescents may be a way of proving themselves and being accepted by their peers. Abstract:

We consider the initial-boundary value problem for a nonlinear wave equation with strong structural damping and nonlinear source terms in IR. We prove the global existence and uniqueness of weak solutions of the problem and then we will study the determining modes on the phase space \"\" by using energy methods and the concept of the completeness defect.

Health (Health) , 2011, DOI: 10.4236/health.2011.39101
Abstract: This study was conducted methodologically in order to determine the validity and reliability of Kogan’s Attitude towards Old People Scale after being adapted to the Turkish Society. 145 female students, attending the 4th and 5th year of the faculty of Medical Sciences at Atatürk University, and 118 nurses, working at Ataturk University Aziziye-Yakutiye Research Hospitals, were in-cluded in the study. The sample group was chosen from the population using a non-probability convenience sampling method. A form containing demographic characteristics of nurses and nursing students, and the Turkish version of Kogan’s Attitude towards Old People Scale were used to gather the required data. Data was analysed using the t-test, Cronbach’s alpha coefficient, correlation, and factor analyses. In the study, Cronbach’s Alpha Reliability Coefficient for Kogan’s Attitude towards Old People Scale was 0.81, and the scale comprised of one factor. The attitude of working nurses towards old people was more positive in comparison to the attitude of student nurses. After analysis, the scale was deemed highly valid and reliable, and suitable to be used for Turkish society. The scale may be used in studies to evaluative attitude toward old people and quality of the care offered to older people.

Dicle Medical Journal , 2008,
Abstract: A 75-year-old woman admitted our faculty emergency room with shortness of breath, and chest pain after traffic accident’s second hour. She was diagnosed as bilateral multipl rib fractures, left clavicula fracture, and left flail chest by phsical and radiological examinations. She was transfered to Chest Surgery Depatment’s intensive care unit. The patient was undergone non-invasive mask mechanic ventilation support, because of the decreasing of blood oxygen saturation and increasing of arteriel blood partial carbondioxide pressure. The treatment of non-invasive mechanic ventilation was succesfull for ventilation support. With this report, we would like to attentioned that non-invasive mechanic ventilation for blunt chest trauma patients could be used succesfully and could be used instead of endotracheal invasive mechanic ventilation.
