Goga, Nina
Barnboken : Tidskrift f?r Barnlitteraturforskning , 2011,
Abstract: This article analyses a specific number of picture book reviews on prize-winning Norwegian picture books from 1998-2008. The subject for the analysis is to examine what kind of aesthetic thinking that is expressed in the reviewer’s judgement of the book. I found that it was possible to relate the reviews to two well established concepts in classic aesthetic theory, namely the concept of the beauty and the sublime. To illustrate this I have studied more exhaustive a smaller number of reviews on two different books
Good Governance in Public Administration from the Perspective of the Political Factor
Gina Goga
Acta Universitatis Danubius : Administratio , 2009,
Abstract: In its process of adhesion to the European Union, Romania was absolutely compelled to follow a wide process of local and central public administration reform that would correspond to theadhesion criteria established by the Union in view of acquiring the membership status. In Romania, the preexistent elements that made the reform process be more difficult and slow and sometimes evenstopped it, aimed at the strategic, structural and behavioral factors. Thus, the stage of the Romanian administration in 2001 imposed that the changes in the Romanian society were radical, reason for which the targets of these strategic reforms aimed at key issues, such as the strategic component, the legal component, the organizational component and the cultural component. Having a dominantpolitical culture is essential in a state that seeks to reform its public administration. Without the support of the political power, any administrative reform risks failing. In the same time, the issue of separating the political from the administration constituted one of the central points within the national public administration reforms in the last years.

Ipads versus Books  [PDF]
Yvonne Shirley
Creative Education (CE) , 2018, DOI: 10.4236/ce.2018.91010
Abstract: During the past few years, technology such as iPads has been a growing trend in classrooms. Students are slowly being drawn away from text books and introduced to digital books on iPads. This study seeks to gain insights into the effectiveness of the implementation of technology in early childhood classrooms. To examine the effectiveness of using iPads for reading, this study addresses the following question: Do children comprehend more when reading from iPads? Ten kindergarten students participated in this study. Their reading comprehension scores when reading from iPads and books were collected within a two-week interval and then compared. After reading stories from iPads and books, students were asked comprehension questions from the DRA and their scores were recorded for each section of comprehension skills which included: previewing, retelling of events, character details, retelling using vocabulary, retelling with teacher’s support, reflections, and making connections. The data showed that nine out of ten students scored higher in reading comprehension when reading from iPads, and one student scored the same on both. This study suggests that more research on effective, appropriate, and intentional teaching with iPads and other technology in classrooms is needed to further examine the benefits and downfalls of using such devices in the field of education.
Good Governance in the EU
Gina Livioara GOGA
Acta Universitatis Danubius : Juridica , 2009,
Abstract: Considering the EU adhesion, good governance has been analyzed from different perspectives, in the judicial literature being an analytic model or a normative concept. Some authors have wondered if this concept is a fashion, comprising some older ideas and principles, while other authors have asserted that the reasons why different methods of governance appear in the EU are based on “the complexity and the uncertainty of the problems on the agenda, an irreducible, the new approaches on public administration and law, hidden competencies, legitimacy and subsidiarity”. At a normative level, the White Paper of European Governance consecrated five principles on which good governance is based upon: openness, participation, responsibility, efficiency and coherence.
