Being so fundamental to advance in the knowledge of the relation of care nurse-patient, and, particularly, on the moral aspects that guide and regulate such a relation, this article analyzes, based on some theoretical models, the relevance of the qualitative paradigm -with a narrative biographical approach- to study the values, feelings and moral actions that constitute the relation between nurses and persons who live with Human Immunodeficiency Virus or Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome.

Abstract: the health-disease process (pse) is a category for understanding individual, collective and social attitudes against a given phenomenon, being important in its approach. this article describes the category "pse" that emerged from the viewpoint of the carriers of tuberculosis from a study conducted at bogotan locality (colombia). using a qualitative hermeneutic approach we interviewed in depth ten individuals had been carriers of tuberculosis and who had completed their treatment successfully. the results show the meanings of tuberculosis as feelings of fear and pain, and perceived as a disease of the "poverty". the stigma permeated the previous category, manifesting itself in all spheres of life of the carriers. the stigma of the disease became a limiting factor for seeking timely medical care and the actions identified in the supervised strategy for tuberculosis control.

Abstract: this article aims at approaching the different studies on human immunodeficiency virus (hiv) and acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (aids) from a perspective as a social issue. by examining the main topics, methodological approaches and actions, this study intends to outline limits as well as possibilities in order to identify the most common tensions and conflicts these young people usually go through at present. it is also a call to think of a new research project that could support new ways of approaching and finding solutions for this complex phenomenon since there is too little research production on how young people live and cope with hiv/aids.
