Abstract: This paper discusses a parasitoid-host-parasitoid ecological model and its dynamical behaviors. On the basis of the center manifold theorem and bi-furcation theory, the existence conditions of the flip bifurcation and Neimark-Sacker bifurcation are derived. In the end of the paper, some typical numerical experiments are performed, which illustrate that the theoretical method is effective.
Stability Analysis and Hadamard Synergic Control for a Class of Dynamical Networks  [PDF]

Abstract: Hadamard synergic control is a new kind of control problem which is achieved via a composite strategy of the state feedback control and the direct regulation of the part of connection coefficients of system state variables. Such a control is actually used very often in the practical areas. In this paper, we discuss Hadamard synergic stabilization problem for a class of dynamical networks. We analyze three cases: 1) Synergic stabilization problem for the general twonodenetwork. 2) Synergic stabilization problem for a special kind of networks. 3) Synergic stabilization problem for special kind of networks with communication timedelays. The mechanism of the synergic action between two control strategies: feedback control and the connection coefficients regulations are presented.
Optimization of solvent extraction conditions for total carotenoids in rapeseed using response surface methodology  [PDF]

Abstract: The optimum total carotenoids (TC) extraction from rapeseed with solvent extraction method by UV-visible spectrophotometer determination was investigated by using response surface methodology (RSM). Extraction duration, re-peated extraction cycles, solvent-solid ratio and extraction temperature were assumed to be the most important factors affecting solvent extrac-tion for the determination of TC. Optimum sol-vent extraction conditions for maximizing the determination of TC were: extraction duration 7.3h, repeated extraction three times, ratio of solvent-solid (v/w, mL/mg) 29:1, extraction temperature 42°C. Under the optimal conditions, the yield of TC was up to 4.79 mg /100g. The model had a satisfactory coefficient of R2 (= 0.912) and verified experimentally. The results showed that the conditions were mild and use-ful for maximizing a quantitative spectropho-tometer determination of TC in rapeseed.

Abstract: Modern nuclear power plants, both newly designed generation 3 and existing generation 2 reactors, make use of passive safety systems for significant and measurable improvements in safety and reliability. Medium Pressure Safety Injection System (MP-SIS) in Tianwan Nuclear Power Plant is a typical and very important nuclear safety passive system. This paper discusses the reliability of MP-SIS on the basis of Fault Tree Analysis (FTA) with unavailability and Minimal Cut Set (MCS) calculated as two important indicators. The result illustrates that the passive MP-Safety Injection Tank barely contributes to the system’s unavailability and human interactions with Manual Valves and Motor Operated Valves have great negative impact on the reliability.

Abstract: Li-air batteries have received much attention in the past several years because of their large theoretical specific energy density, stable output voltage, cost-effective, energy-efficient and pollution free, and have broad application prospects. If it is successfully developed, the battery could be an excellent energy storage device for renewable energy sources such as wind, solar, and tidal energy, which brings a prospect for human to solve the problem of environment pollution and energy crisis. But the electrolyte is a crucial component of Li-air battery and the electrochemical performance of the battery is determined by electrolyte to a great extent. Due to the react violently between lithium and water, it is not practical for Li-air battery to use directly an aqueous electrolyte unless the anode can be protected from degradation. In this review, we presented the latest research progress on the non-aqueous electrolyte, i.e. organic electrolyte, ionic liquid and solid electrolyte. We elaborated the influence of solvents, and possible additives, and/or their combination Li-air battery’s performance. Finally, we provided insights into the prospect of non-aqueous electrolyte for Li-air battery.

Abstract: Role-play is an effective technique to animate the teaching and learning atmosphere, arouse the interests of learners, and make the language acquisition impressive. So this research will mainly focus on how to apply it successfully and take the most advantage of it in English class. The outcome shows there are four crucial factors for its success: the topic chosen should be real and relevant; the teacher need 'feed-in' the appropriate language; correct errors in a proper way; some of teachers role are facilitator, spectator or participant. Incorporating role-play into the classroom adds variety, a change of pace and opportunities for a lot of language production and also a lot of fun!
On Semantic and Syntactical Selective Constraints among Multiple Words in Context

Abstract: The semantic and syntactical selective constraints among multiple words in context are surveyed. Main types of selective constraints in context are: selective constraint between immediate constitutes, the one among multiple words in the same sentence, the one among multiple words in different sentences and that between words and situational factors. And they are further grouped into different categories. The knowledge of these selective constraints must be used in syntactical analysis of natural language processing for disambiguation. Keywords: context, multiple words, selective constraints, disambiguation Résumé Cet essai travaille sur les relations sélectives et contraignantes des expressions dans le texte sous l’angle sémantique et syntaxique. Les principales sélections et contraintes des expressions viennent des mots voisins, du troisième mot de la même phrase, du troisième mot d’une autre phrase, du contexte, etc. L’auteur fait une classification de ces sélections et contraintes. On doit recourir aux sélections et contraintes de différents niveux pour éliminer les interprétations différentes dans l’analyse syntaxique. The Impact of Legal Challenges on the Evolution of Web-based Intelligent Agents

Abstract: Shopbots and Metabots are two Web-based intelligent agents that emerged since 1994 with the popularity of the Web. Both agent categories experienced impacts from lawsuits due to their innovative ways of information collection. Though the nature of their information collection methods were the same – which is extracting data from other websites - shopbots generally received favorable rulings while metabots received the opposite. As a result, shopbots become a dominant B2C ecommerce category nowadays while metabots-enabled ecommerce only exists in certain niche markets. This paper intends to explore the validity of the legal measures related and demonstrates that the legal force has a major impact on the development of Web technologies and the business models they later supported.
