Measurement Error for Age of Onset in Prevalent Cohort Studies  [PDF]
Yujie Zhong, Richard J. Cook
Applied Mathematics (AM) , 2014, DOI: 10.4236/am.2014.511160
Abstract:

Prevalent cohort studies involve screening a sample of individuals from a population for disease, recruiting affected individuals, and prospectively following the cohort of individuals to record the occurrence of disease-related complications or death. This design features a response-biased sampling scheme since individuals living a long time with the disease are preferentially sampled, so naive analysis of the time from disease onset to death will over-estimate survival probabilities. Unconditional and conditional analyses of the resulting data can yield consistent estimates of the survival distribution subject to the validity of their respective model assumptions. The time of disease onset is retrospectively reported by sampled individuals, however, this is often associated with measurement error. In this article we present a framework for studying the effect of measurement error in disease onset times in prevalent cohort studies, report on empirical studies of the effect in each framework of analysis, and describe likelihood-based methods to address such a measurement error.

Trust Maintenance and Trust Repair  [PDF]
Liangtie Dai, Yujie Wu
Psychology (PSYCH) , 2015, DOI: 10.4236/psych.2015.66075
Abstract: As an important social capital, construction and development of initial trust have been paid much attention. Trust violation, as a significant phenomenon, also begins to absorb many concerns. Studies of trust repair started late, and focused on sociology for analyzing trust crises during the social transition period in China, but seldom cared about individual and organizational levels. This paper, based on perspective of psychology, summarizes the definition, theoretical foundation and integrative model of trust, and discusses the trust violation, repair processes, repair strategies, the attribution model and dynamic bilateral model of trust repair, providing convenience for research in the individual or organizational level of trust repair.
Analysis on Supporting Policy of Small and Medium Enterprises of Science and Technology—Taking Hefei of Anhui Province as an Example  [PDF]
Zhenqing Yuan, Yujie Feng
Open Journal of Social Sciences (JSS) , 2017, DOI: 10.4236/jss.2017.54013
Abstract: In recent years, as the carrier of technology innovation and technology industrialization, science-technology small and medium-sized enterprises (STS-ME) make big contribution to transformation of scientific and technological achievements, the industrial structure optimization, the high and new technology development, innovation/entrepreneurship and increasing employment opportunities. STSME has become an important growth point of economic development. However, support policies for STSME also face many problems as policies and regulations and public service system is not perfect, poor financial ecological environment, the relative lack of scientific and technological personnel, to some extent, which hinders the development of STS-ME. Therefore, this article using policy text analysis method-through the extraction and analysis method of keyword network keywords to analyze policies which supports STSME in Hefei. According to the analysis results, we put forward policy recommendations.
Performance of Nth Worst Full-Duplex Relay Selection over Nakagami-M Fading Channels  [PDF]
Jing Guo, Yujie Zhang
Int'l J. of Communications, Network and System Sciences (IJCNS) , 2017, DOI: 10.4236/ijcns.2017.108B004
Abstract:
The performance analysis of Nth worst relay selection for the full-duplex (FD) mode over Nakagami-m fading channels is studied. We assume the relay employs the amplify-and-forward (AF) protocol. The closed-form expres-sions for the outage performance in terms of the received signal-to-noise ratio cumulative distribution function are derived. In the high signal-to-noise ratio regime, asymptotic outage probability is also investigated. Based on these expressions, the effect of several important network parameters, i.e., the number of relays and the order of selected relay, as well as the quality of the relay links, source-relay links, relay-destination links, are analytically characterized. Finally, numerical results are provided to verify and illustrate our mathematical analysis.

- , 2016, DOI: : 10.3779/j.issn.1009-3419.2016.04.02
Abstract: Background and objective Regimens that combine irinotecan or etoposide with cisplatin or carboplatin have been recommended as first-line regimen for extensive-disease small cell lung cancer (ED-SCLC). In our network meta-analysis, we synthesized the direct and indirect lines of evidence to rank the short-term efficacies of these recommended chemotherapy regimens. Methods We searched databases, including EMBASE, PubMed, CENTRAL and clinicaltrial.gov, for relevant randomized controlled trials (RCTs) that compared the efficacies of these treatments. A risk of bias tool was used to evaluate the quality of the included studies, whereas Stata 13.1 was used for statistical synthesis. Results Our study included 10 RCTs that involved 2,378 patients. Compared with that of the regimen that combined etoposide and carboplatin, the complete remission rate was significantly higher in the group treated with irinotecan combined with carboplatin. The efficacy of the regimen that combined irinotecan with carboplatin was significantly superior over that of the combination of etoposide and cisplatin. Conclusion Our data presented here suggest that the effect of Irinotecan combination with Carboplatin is remarkably superior.

Abstract: This paper centers on comparing the use of first personal deixis in Chinese English Learner Corpus (CLEC) and English-native Speaker Corpus such as FROWN and FLOB. It also makes a close investigation into the frequency difference of first nominative personal deixis, that is, “I” and “we”, and their practical use with modal verbs in the three corpora. Based on the results of the comparison and investigation of the uses of “I” and “we”, the writer tries to look into the reasons which cause the difference in order to enlighten English teaching in Chinese English learners’ classes.
Is “Absorb Knowledge” An Improper Collocation?
Yujie Su
English Language Teaching , 2010, DOI: 10.5539/elt.v3n1p122
Abstract: Collocation is practically very tough to Chinese English learners. The main reason lies in the fact that English and Chinese belong to two distinct language systems. And the deep reason is that learners tend to develop different metaphorical concept in accordance with distinct ways of thinking in Chinese. The paper, taking “absorb knowledge” as an example, intend to explore how to present the potential collocation patterns of “knowledge”in the learner’s dictionary for Chinese learners, based on a series of search results of BROWN and LOB as well as CLEC, by comparing the usual combinational patterns of “knowledge”of Chinese learners and English native speakers.
